ok I found a spare pump from a 2.1, different pulley but same pump...
Stiff to turn then it freed off so i thought it ok, but opening the thing up revelaed this.... ![]() the pistons have stuck in the closed positions, been sat in a damp shed... most important thing i discovered was the wobble plate assembly is a shrink fit, so will need a bearing puller or something to remove, i destroyrd it with the angle grinder in the pusuit of science.. ![]() valve block assembly is held on with these bolts, m5 hex head. ![]() once removed you can see a nice roller bearing and start to remove pistons, if they are not out already ![]() Under each piston is it return spring and a baal bearing in a cup the provides a 1 way valve for the piston chamber to fill with oil ![]() here it is.. ![]() This is the other side of the piston chamber... ![]() I provides one half of the output valve, flap variety, with this washer... ![]() Provided none of the springs fail, or it gets too cruded up, its a simple design. No rubber O rings to replace either... So a pump with low or weak output is a result of piston wear in the chamber, nothing can be done except a pump exchange time to upgrade to a xantia pump with rubbers..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01L2jcep3Ik&feature=channel before refitting the not-serviced pump i washed it out with petrol, lots, use a pipe and a jug and pump it through etc and if re-circulating use a cloth as a filter you could do this on engine if careful..... take note petrol wont lubricate and will inhibit lubrication, when washing pump by hand not an issue, at engine speeds, be very careful! but, mine was flushed by hand, it rises faster than before and the low pressure warning at tickover has gone!
