Yep, that's my old car! I sold it on ebay to this guy. He obviously thinks there's some profit in it! He's not been particularly kind with the description, the dot matrix displays work perfectly, just need bulbs replacing, and I did loads of work to it last year, including clutch, head gasket, water pump, new injectors, FDV, timing belt and tensioners etc etc. It'd be a bargain at that sort of money.

Thanks Neil, that's a great help, I'll probably have a bid on this nearer the end of auction.

Hi Ken

If he had mentioned in the ad that it has a new head gasket, that would have put it in a different league!

Not only new, but a proper laminated steel one which went onto a refaced head!

The car is listed as having covered 174000 miles, I asked the seller to confirm this, he replied to say it's now done 179000 miles.

However that's still 15000 miles less than when Neilp listed it, unless Neil made a mistake?

£362. I take it you're not norwegian_pearl Ken?

For the amount of car available not a bad price really although the miles are getting high.

Been to collect the car today and have to say what a thoroughly nice man the seller was. The car is fine and drives like a good-un, it has one or two minor issues which will get sorted in due course, but certainly well worth the money, even had half a tank of juice in it ohmy.gif

Thanks to NeilP for all the work he put into it and hopefully this will allow this car to live on for some time.

Nice one Ken.

Are you going to run two XM's or is one going to be sold or used as a donor car?

Or are you going to start collecting S1 2.1 estates to rival Peter's collection of S2 cars biggrin.gif ?

No thanks, one at a time is enough for me.

No idea what will happen in the long run, I love my old car and it would break my heart to scrap it, to coin a phrase, it's too good to break, but I'll have a look at it maybe in May when I've more time and the weather is a bit warmer.

That's been the problem here, just not enough time to do things, life has been difficult here and it's not getting much easier. So this car will keep me mobile for the time being anyway.
