Whatever series the Xm the lights are the same. I'm not actually sure what you mean though.
Anyhow; do you mean these:

Anyhow, clear wing repeaters off a s2 won't look that special on a pewter or silver coloured
car whereas the orange jobbies will contrast far better - the orange colouration on the bulbs
is a real PITA for peeling off and failing the MOT for being white rather than orange.

these are the ones i want but i'm abit skint so was hoping the cheaper s2 ones would fit, do they?
i'm not bothered about flaking orange bulbs as i usually change them when they start going white!

these ones.

or these.

simon.

Yes, the cutout in the wing is the same whether you use either series side indicator.
Not sure about those German ones though or s2 ones on a s1 either!! What's wrong with
these?

nothing, just want to be different, every car i get i like to personalise, and those german ones are s1 shape with a modern twist.

i'm not really sure about s2 ones either, but for now they'll do and alot cheaper!

The s2 ones are shared with the later Xantiae so these will work
if that's where you want to go first:

Series 1 and series 2 sidelights are different physically and more importantly so is the hole for them punched in the XM wing.

Tell you what, to spare you spending your hard earned on any risk, I'll dig out one of
each type and doubly confirm what xmexclusive has clearly stated as fact!

Shows what I know - how could I question the wisdom of xmexclusive. Yes the s1 wing cut out
is smaller for the indicator compared to the later s2 type commonly found on Xantiae of all types
AND the later Xm.

I'm one for keeping things like this stock standard so have never found such an issue as I have
just confirmed by checking a s1 and s2 dude by side and attempting to swap a s2 onto a s1.
I guess a s2 could fit on a s1 as it's a smaller body behind the lens but then it would probably
be loose then.

I have been confused by an orange repeater that I have on an early s2 which from memory
earlier rather than eyeing the thing was taken as being the same type as that found on a s1.

that's alright, thank you for taking the time to find out for sure. so to round up s2 side repeaters don't fit s1 xm's.

i'll get the ones from germany which are direct replacements for s1's

cheers.

Sorry Andrew I only found out when someone told me S1 and S2 scuttle caps were different. At the time I found that difficult to believe so I got Mk1 and Mk2 bits out and compared them. With the two wings laid out beside each other I just could not understand why Citroen needed to change the sidelight hole and scuttle pressing on the wings. To me with an engineering background it is expensive madness. Information picked up that way tends to stick in the mind. Maybe to you as a designer the small shape changes add up to a harmonious combination of detail that I just fail to see.
