Renard, the hydraulics specialist that works on my XM and whom I trust and love, just so happens to have a 1997 Xantia Activa V6-24 for sale, for he princely sum of € 3950.

http://www.renard.nl/nieuw/info.php?id=460

Details:
1997, 222.000 kms, suspension completely in working order (as you would expect from Renard), new tyres all round, airco, alarm, immobiliser, power windows fore & aft, remote central locking, radio/CD player, rain sensor, alloys.

They call it a wolf in sheep's clothing - which I think is an understatement. With all that huge and effortless V6 power and the Activa's handling capabilities, this would be THE ultimate hot hatch. I've drive it once, and it's nothing short of amazing. Wherever you point it, it goes like shit off a shovel. On a straight stretch, it's a seriously quick, yet seriously comfy car, but on the curvy bits it grits its hydractive teeth and runs rings around anything that happens to be in the way. I never knew that you could get this sort of grip and roadholding capabilities from a hatch that looks so unobtrusive...
If I'd be into that sort of thing, I'd have bought it myself.

Hi

Wow £3500 for a 150,000miles car. Even good Avtiva's or V6 Xantia struggle to make £1000 in the UK (50000km car for sale at £995 at the moment on www.autotrader.com). That is an incredible difference between countries.

Sounds like an extremely interesting car - it's a pity that we never got them.
