Just thought it was about time to sign up to your wonderful forum as I have had many citroens over the last 15 years ie 2 cx's 6 xm's 4 bx's 3 zx's 1 ax 4 xantia's and 1 c5 with a fair helping of other makes as well but I love the xm's so keep going back to one as my best mate says it's a marmite car you either love it or hate it
Anyway my name is mick i reside in north essex i work with my brother in his small garage seemingly fixing many of the local citroens (good job we bought good diagnostic gear as the latest cars need it ) since the local citroen garage lost the dealership and are now too dear I am also into 50's 60's and early american cars and between us we have quite a stable full some being restored some on the road we also do a lot of running restorations for owners who cannot afford a big bill all at once -------------------- 95 xm 2.0l turbo exclusive hatch 77,000 rp 6766

Hi Mick
Welcome to the club. You are pretty certain to get all the info here, that you need for any XMs that come your way. I should think that between us every job on an XM has been covered. Peter.N. This post has been edited by Peter.N. on February 27, 2009 11:11 pm -------------------- Used to have:

Hi Peter you are probably right i rember my first forray into the xm well i bought my first xm a 89 2.0l basic in 1994 with close on 200000 miles on the clock for a princely sum of £500 1 month later i bought a top of the range all singing all dancing model with a blown engine and rear end damage and spent a week changing all the interior and electric gizmos into my basic car i had many large bunches of wiring that i had to splice togeather to get it all to work after completing this task the car went on for annother 150000 miles apart from regular servicing and 1 clutch the engine and box never had any major repairs at all it was only scrapped 3 years ago and i still have many parts left end the engine still lives on in a pug 405 (wash my mouth out I think this is a great testament to the xm and it is why i keep running them Mick -------------------- 95 xm 2.0l turbo exclusive hatch 77,000 rp 6766

Hi Mick
I think they are the best thing since sliced bread. I have been running them for about 13 years after three CX Safari's which I ran for 10 years or more and have covered in total over 500k miles. The 2.1 diesel must be one of the toughest ever cars made, apart form the ride and the comfort and the space and the economy and ..... Peter.N. -------------------- Used to have:
