The 3rd one is a 2.5 and it is just up the road from me. Don't remember seeing it driving about, but I know there are a few lurking locally that I never see. I would be interested to know where it has been serviced.

The late model estate is also advertised on Savoys website, must be them selling it.

Its a very very late model, although high mileage.

The green 2.5 hatch is nice cool.gif

It is. He's had it down as 'coming soon' for about 3 weeks.

It needed a new drivers window regulator then, I guess that's been done.

I'd guess by this time or thereabouts tomorrow it'll end at £750+ as it's got decent mileage!!

TBH, I'd be interested but it's a 2.5 and that puts me off a bit due to higher spares cost and lack of availability.

If you've not tried the 2.5TD, it's absolutely superb!!

And this is from a confessed petrolhead who actually rather detests diesels!! I've had a total
revelation buying a 2.5 saloon recently, even though it's a s2 and I prefer s1's!!! It has a nice
clutch/manual gearbox too if you go for that sort of thing. Some folk can't abide manuals
as apparently the handbrake causes issues. A far better engine to actually drive than the 2.1
which is usually hindered by an autobox, although there's obviously the crammed engine bay
and parts to consider. Still, that doesn't stop folk having 24v v6's too where you'd be lucky to
find room to even lose a spanner!!

Right, there you go; that should've stirred up a veritable hornets nest after disparagingly
mentioning automatics, handbrakes, 2.1's, s1 v s2's and 'loving up' 2.5's, manuals AND then
mentioning a v6 just for good measure!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

Guess I could stir things up further by mentioning the iffy wheelbase of Xm estates and then
finish by a reprise of XM leather seats which may look fancy but really are rubbish... wacko.gif rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

But I won't! tongue.gif

I see the 2.5 has been pulled from ebay now. The handbrake is less of an issue on the 2.5 when moving off on a hill due to the torque of the engine and fly- by- wire engine management system. At clutch bite point a leisurely shift of right foot from brake to throttle is all that is required.

Just to give the pot a stir...

I'm not keen on the estate, I find the ride loses alot of the Citroen magic. Although I know they can hold a staggering amount without it effecting the ride and handling much at all. In fact I found the ride better when loaded.

The 2.5 is a great engine, smooth for a 4 pot diesel but working on them is a real pain and the price and availability parts a bit of a worry.

The 2.1 hatch I had suited me fine, enough performance with good economy. I've only had manual gearboxes so haven't experienced the 'magic' of an auto.

The 2.0 TCT would bankrupt me if it wasn't for the LPG kit. The day before yesterday on a VERY steady trip down the M1 at 50 MPH through roadworks I got 31MPG.

Steve.
