Everytime I llok at the relays holder under the glovebox I think it must swing down for easy access in the footwell but don't see how. Before I take the glovebox out again to swap a relay does anyone know if it does and how I release it?

It probably does hinge down but only when the guy at the factory was building the dash sub assembly prior to being put in place by robots (according to Martinez and Sauzay's book).

It does hinge down, but it is very stiff and difficult in my experience - and even more stiff and difficult to get back (unless you take the glove box out to be able to lever it from the top).
Removing the glove box is much easier once you have the knack - especially as you have to remove the plastic under the dash to hinge it down which is almost as many screws as the glove box. -------------------- 94M XM 2.5 TD VSX Estate RP 6430 Forest Green

Do not forget that later Mk2's (mid 96 on) have no access through the glove box due to the presence of a passenger airbag that is incredibily difficult to take out. John -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

That would cause a bit of an access problem. Is the glove box smaller to fit it in? There isn't much space there to cram a airbag in...

The fairly narrow almost useless glove box sits in the rear 80 mm or so with the whole front portion the airbag fixed in place with concealed and inaccessible mounting screws.
