Doesn't sound like a hoax. So where does this leave the C6?
Impossible job to recreate impact of original in 1955 mind. Andrew |

Sounds like a total POS! Chuck a DS badge in front of the existing range badge lettering?
That'll add more glamour then... WTF!! They've lost it - So are the chevrons going to be inverted like a lucky horseshoe to help Citroen's fortunes. Andrew |

So thinking about this rebranding, the GTbyCitroen concept fits in doesn't it.
Why sully the DS name like a "Ghia" badge has been by Ford though - what's wrong with Pallas or Exclusive for the premium Lexus range? Andrew |

So its not a revamp of the car, merely a ride on the coat tails of a famous name, for whatever piece of europlastic they happen to produce next?
Looks like they've fucked it up already TBH Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)

I'm afraid that its just another trim level chaps. I think using past posher model names would be sufficient, Prestige, Exclusive, Pallas etc.
This is the new model that they are launching, a Posh C4 Picasso, pseudo estate/tourer thing. ![]() You can see the revised logo that Citroen will unveil, and above it their little DS badge -------------------- 1980 CX Athena (W)

That thing looks like the unfortunate offspring of a Vectra and Ford Focus, nothing Citroen like about it at all.

ds-thing aside, I find the front of this blue car smashing. By far the best front in a production car. Such a nice design compared to Audi's dull fronts, or BMW's overdesigned fronts (they don't know what else to do anymore). I'm so happy they seem to have decided to pass the designs of these two amazing prototypes (u know, the red 4-door one, and the white coupe one, u know which ones I mean!) in their production cars... Was time Cit found a nice staple-front for their cars, even the C5 looks like a redesigned (and enhanced) Audi. ...and of course I meant these two:
C-metisse ![]() AND Citroen GT ![]() ![]() Really refreshing design imo. The idea in their minds about the frontal area of the cars is obvious, don't u think so..? Hope the next "C6" is at least 50% as extreme as the C-metisse otherwise I see the demise of big Cits for the foreseable future... cheers G This post has been edited by jorgy9 on February 04, 2009 11:59 pm -------------------- XM '94 V6 12v, manual, Diravi - Mark "1.5" in black - bought: 138,000mls now: 167,000 miles

Apart from potentially sullying and confusing the obvious 'heritage' of the DS brand there may
be more honest heart in Citroen's intentions: Quoted from www.worldcarfans.com "Clearly Citroën is moving up a class to differentiate itself from PSA sister brand Peugeot. The company will return to its quirky, avant-garde roots as far as technology, innovation and design are concerned. As part of the transformation, smaller cars will get less attention while customers and dealerships will get more, and Citroën would become a sort of French luxury brand." Interesting as I recall an interview with the new Citroen company MD who wanted to go back to it's quirky innovative and technology driven roots as more of a niche model range rather than competing with Peugeot who would blanket the normal car range requirements and these concepts like the Airdream/Airlounge/Metisse and GT certainly sit in this end of the scale. And from what I see from what's been posted the rebranded chevrons don't appear any different really!! Time will tell if the future looks exciting or bland for us nutter Cit fans! Andrew |

Even though I don't see the point of an SUV or one as a crossover etc, I like the look of this:
http://www.worldcarfans.com/9081002.007/mi...uction-vehicles There are other 'niceties' too: http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090204.016/ph...elease-tomorrow http://www.worldcarfans.com/9081010.001/ci...ion-stop--start interesting stuff! Has Citroen got it's mojo back then? Many car magazines seem to think so... Andrew |

Hi
Although we may not want to think about it. Citroen is a brand mainly know in the car world for one thing at the present. MPVs. They might be out of the radar of most XM owners but citroen now produce 8 MPV (including the new C3 Picasso and SUV/MPV cross over thingy). They make nearly 25% of all Europe's MPV. So all this brand improvement - GT by Citroen, DS etc... probably doesn't impact on what they are concentrating on. It's marketing BS to make you feel good when you are driving your MPV. After the C6 I can't see them ever making another big saloon let alone the GT. Cheers Tony |
