Someone on the FCF has actually fitted Peugeot 406 seats on the runners of a Xantia to get
a different shaped seat to suit him - may be doable if they're matching black leather!! Not sure if another fabric would fit in and match with the native Xantia one's though! Andrew This post has been edited by Andmcit on February 15, 2009 11:39 pm |

I always found BXs really easy to park (bearing in mind 'parking' means mm away from other cars, to be able to fit them in) as you can see the ends, where as the rest you can't. Then the Xantias, Xms and then the CX, i found that more difficult than the Xm. The Xantia is of course a big car, there isnt actually that much in it: Length Xantia Hatch: 4440 mm (174.8") Xm Hatch: 4708 mm (185.4") Xm Estate: 4963 mm (195.4") - now thats a big car! C5 Hatch: 4618 Width Xantia Hatch: 1977 mm (77.8") - with mirrors Xm Hatch: 2072 mm (81.6") - with mirrors C5 Hatch: - no with mirrors figure given - 1770 mm Chris. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

I've owned both... The XM is a MUCH bigger car than the Xantia. It FILLS carparks end to end, where as Xantias easily fit in. I don't know how such a big car has so little head room ... I'm getting tired of banging my head on the sunroof surround.

Sadly, the fellas that scrap these brilliant cars for the engine to fit in a small shopping trolley
will bid £300 as it is knowing the alloys, seats and the odd panels will sell on and help recoup their purchase price. Certainly judging by the values of recent Activas on ebay I believe it will struggle past 300 anyhow. In fact they've been languishing around the 150-200 mark lately; now is the time to get one as they're very limited in their initial supply and availability now. As a going concern this one needs two rams worth about £350 EACH new and the turbo oil leak is a new one I've not come across on a Xantia turbo before. I have a spare rear ram but just used my spare front a few weeks back - I'll try and get that one rescued one way or another. Are you considering buying it in Paul? Nice car but you'd need to source second hand rams or get the one's on the car looked at. The MOT man will fail mine if it's wet even if it doesn't leak. If it can hold together for an hour you'll keep the car legal!! emissions in the turbo/exhaust though. All very sad really - this is the Activa to get in the right colour and spec - sunroof one's are hard to find as Citroen fitted AC as standard on every Xantia in this era in preference to a sunroof. So thats a no you havent then Andrew!
:-( Im considering one for the suspension experiance. I DO NOT like the TCT one ounce, certainly not in the XM anyway... could be a different thing in the Xantia... The Activa seats almost look like Exclusive seats too... Paul -------------------- 1993 K Reg 3.0 V6 12 Valve Auto (Green) LPG S1.5 SORNd

Hi Guys More width and, in the estate, more headroom. I just think the XM comes across as in a different league to the Xantia. It may only be two or three inches wider but the feeling of space is altogether different. Over the time I've now run XMs I've had quite a few people who ride in one for the first time comment on the space, the comfort and the ride. Those who have then been in the household Xantia have then commented exactly on the opposite, particularly the poor seats. People who haven't been in the XM but have been in the Xantia have made no comments at all. Mike. -------------------- XM 2.5VSX Estate RP 7185

Xantia seats werre "OK", BX seats the worst seats I have ever sat in, my wife still has a sore spot in her back from the bloody hidiously uncomfortable cr@p, and we got rid of it years ago. The BX is the most crippling horribly uncomfortable car I've ever owned ! XM seats are "average" IMO.... The CX and DS (and GS and SM ...etc....) sh!t all over them. The XM has adjust electric seats in every direction, the steering column moves up and down, in and out ..... You could spend half an hour making adjustments and be 1/2 as comfortable as getting into the CX, moving that seat back so your feet reach the clutch .... done !!! seeya, Shane L. -------------------- Location ... As much as I like the Xantias, I too must say I find the drivers seat thoroughly uncomfortable on a longish journey. I'm just under 6ft tall and have an ongoing back problem, which the Xantia I drove for an hour recently seemed to aggravate in a big way. The XM remains the only car I can sit in, in comfort, for hours on end, and I drive plenty of others on a regular basis.
One thing I will say though, the legroom in my parent's new Mazda 3, is almost approaching XM space levels... how the hell is that possible with a teeny Focus sized hatchback?? Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)

I'm half yes and half no!! The TCT in the Xantia goes evry well - what don't you like about it? It's not lethargic but it's not a v6 either! The Activa seats are just brilliant, velour crazy tartan or leather. BTW, check out: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130288318139 Tempted anyone? No sunroof though! Andrew |

The best bit about the TCT in the Xantia ...... Is you just "chip tune" it... dramatically increasing the boost
