My father unfortunately slipped and broke his leg (3x places badly on his left leg femur)
last week Monday evening and after having it tended to with a temp plaster at A&E I drove
him back there the following morning to have it seen to and set in better plaster just as
we had the silly snow down this way.

That was quite 'challenging' even in the lightish Xantia TD estate but what still get's me in a
rage now was the 8 or so clearly old enough to know better very late teens (17-19) lads that
thought it mindlessly hilarious to chuck lumps of hard ice as hard as possible at every car that
was gingerly driving past them down an icy very steep hill - I thought I'd lost my back window.
I did think about remonstrating with them but wonder whether I'd have just made myself a
target for the feral pack and had to get to A&E in appalling driving conditions so went on.

This evening I've just noticed the high level brake light LED in the tailgate of the estate doesn't
have it's red lens covering now and it did the last time it was out driving that day to A&E.
Still simmering after this discovery, I now find my Xm H plater I left in town in a quiet side
street yesterday has had unwanted extra attention today where some lowlife has decided I
need practice changing the door glass in my rear driver's door....

...right, I think it's time for that high powered rifle from the bell tower... dry.gif blink.gif ohmy.gif

Goddammit.

My pal's just told me this is actually in the current urban dictionary (or whatever) as
"going postal" where infamous incidents of really p!ssed of parties go into their workplace
etc with a gun...

my blood is still boiling!

Sorry to hear about your encounter with the scumbags Andrew. Though its very common now, it doesn't stop it being any less infuriating when you come across them.

I hope you can get the window of the Xm sorted.

These oxygen thieves just need a damn good kicking mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Oh and yes, the 'going postal' thing, have you never heard that before?

Slang for going apeshit (preferebly with weapons) after tolerating abuse / bad behaviour for too long.

I think the term comes from that unfortunate incident in America where a postman lost the plot and went into the office brandishing firearms one day...

I've just managed to fit a replacement window glass Ciaràn - freshly dug out of the barn.
The niceties of fixing/fitting the doortrim will need to wait another day; preferably in
daylight with fingers that aren't frozen solid and cut by chards of glass. sad.gif

At least the car is secure again. Fortunately nothing was taken and remnants of a bottle
were found inside the car though no beer smell. Poor car just had a new MOT and I
couldn't get it back home until today.

Sorry about your father and your window woes. I'm still suffering from falling on ice monday myself,
nothing broken but the damn sacro-whatever joint is right out and i was hobbling around in the snow for a few days.

I've had that same window done on mine in 2006 for absolutely no apparent reason, nothing to nick in the back. You would like to think you can leave your car around town too, The most gratifying reason I could find to console myself about such wanton destruction (it happened again to the rear os main glass later that summer) is jealosy on the part of the perpetrator at not having the balls to run such a nice looking car.

As for chucking snowballs at cars, well some people just have shit for brains. You should have seen some of the driving around town and around my very hilly neighbourhood on friday on semi-thawed and then refrrozen ice!

Lucky you had some spare glass and the skills and time to fit it really.

There are some real idiots about. So pointless to damage other people property, do they do it for fun? How can that be fun!

Thats the worst thing about driving in the snow, being pelted by ice balls! That and the carefless drivers who dont have a clue dry.gif

At least you have spares to replace the window Andrew, but still, you shouldn't have had to, pure scum some people mad.gif

Good on you Terry, when you're dealing with neandrethals like that, a taste of their own medicine in the only language they understand is all you can do sometimes.

Whose XM is that BTW? blink.gif ohmy.gif

Andrew, hope your dads on the mend BTW, easily done in weather like this sad.gif

Bastards mad.gif mad.gif

Complete waste of oxygen some of these people are.

They go on about reducing carbon emissions etc, the mystical 'carbon footprint' of these wasters must be huge when you consider the fact they don't contribute anything useful to society, yet consume resources left, right, and centre with their wanton destructive behaviour. They should be culled.

Ciarán

I'm with Ciarán, i've ranted about this kind of thing before so I'll stop now except to say that the only use these creatures could possibly serve would be as practice for the armed services... complete and utter bastards !

Do what a mate of mine did. He was passing a couple of lads who were kicking a ball about - Bob KNEW that were going to welly the ball at his car so it wasn't a shock when they did it. He calmy pulled up and reversed and called the cretins over. Thinking that they were dealing with an old fella they arrogantly marched over only to be met with the door full in the chest! One on the deck with possible broken ribs and his mate running for all he was worth! No witnessess either. Nice!

Kids! Sadly it's happening everywhere so the scumbags are spreading like a virus; probably
2nd and 3rd generation scumbags too. Totally sickening!! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Unfortunately, we have seen this before with Roddew; I still can't clear the pictures in my
mind from that

I can moan about the single glass pane being broken and all the hassles of fixing and clearing
it up but that pales in comparison with the wanton destruction of what looks(ed) like a nice car.

The DE registration number is from the Swansea area so a car from my neck of the woods
originally yet Wingrove are Newcastle Dealers which is my true hometown where I was born!

No I haven't had any dealing with this car mind.

VERY VERY Sad. sad.gif
