You will find that the rear one is the difficult one to remove. The rubber will pull of okay but the steel tube it was once attached too is very tight. I carefully ground through the tube with an angle grinder. Clean up the rust covered "rod" well before hammering on the new rubber. Heavey hammer required. Sorry make that a very heavey hammer (2lb mash hammer). It's a bit awkward trying to get it supported under a press properly.

Thanks, although I think the issue of rust will not be a problem for me. I shudder at some of the pics I see of your cars and the rust. My mate George who has a couple of cars he brought from the UK frightens me when he opens the bonnet of the S1 V6 - corrosion on everything.

Beg borrow or steal a pneumatic impact driver, makes getting the rear bush mounting off a lot eaisier!, other than that it's an easy job really, although a press makes short work of putting the new bushes in.
