Thanks for the welcome, I've had two hatches and used to rub my hair on the roof all the time. I cut the plastic covering from the seat motor to give a little more room, but it wasn't enough really. I'm torn between hatches and estates, I would probably prefer a hatch for looks and refinement but an estate could be useful. Being mindful of economy is steering me towards a hatch, but... |

Its a while since ive been in a VSX with electric seats, but how is the seat height adjusted? Maybe non electric ones go lower?
Just leave the sunroof cover open, there must be enough room then -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Plenty of headroom for me and I'm 6'0" (or was) my son is 6'4" and he manages OK but has to put the seat right down - I have to have it right up. There is not much to chose in economy between hatches and estates, I can get 50+ from the 2.1 manual estate, I havn't actually done a test on the hatch but it seems pretty well the same.
Seat height adjustment lower front right of seat, facing forward. -------------------- Used to have:

Im 6'2" and manage fine, with the seat right on the lowest setting. Although there will be a little more head room in your estates Peter? How does the hatch compare?
Any difference in MPG between the hatch and estate will be minimal, you wont even notice. Book figures say the estate does at the very most 1 MPG less than the hatch. The estates are great, huge, you can put anything in them and they are a handsome car. Although i prefer the hatch for looks, i would have either, one of each would be nice! Im trying It depends what you intend to use it for and what you will be putting in it, will it be your daily car? Since your a Diesel lover im sure you will get on very well with the 2.5 -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles
