I'm going to sell my XM, I've replaced it with a C5 and dont really have the space to keep both.
Its a white 2.1td estate with alloy wheels. In my ownership I've replaced the full exaust system, discs and pads, ball and drop link joints, heater matrix, all three parking brake cables, alternator and hydraulic pump. It had two new front tyres in Dec. Strut tops were changed as a temporary measure with ones from a petrol model in the absence of diesel engined types. The clutch cable snapped last week, I've ordered a new one, but it hasnt arrived yet. I've had the car for two years, been to the south of France in it twice, and commuted up and down the A9 almost twice a month in it. Looking for somewhere in the reigon of £300. Taxed till the end of Jan, MOT expires Feb 5. |

Oh sorry.
I'm in Kirkcaldy in Fife. Its done 160 000 miles. Faults that need attention re MOT. Clutch cable first. There are a couple of patches needing welding on the passengers sills. In the middle near the seat belt mountings. The central locking is up to mischief, locking and unlocking itself. I should pull out the fuse or relay. All other electrics work including sunroof and all the windows. There is a tiny air leak in the o ring on top of the injector pump, which means that it takes a second or two to self bleed itself to start. I'm away tomorrow, but will take some photos on Friday and mail them as a pm to you. Perhaps you can host & post them here. |

Your cars' big brother Chris!! I'm sure Peter can probably tell us it's chassis number!
Odd rust on the rear wings - do estates do that? My s1 mamual 2.1 hasn't. Andrew |

It is indeed
I have seen a few estates go round there. I saw a 'YBL' car a few months ago which was for breaking, the rear arches were bearly existing there was so much rust. It seems S1s have a stronger paint barrier than the S2, quite often S2s suffer from rust around the rear arches it would seem. Odd as they were galvanised when new. Xantias seem to hold up much better, i dont think ive ever seen a rusty Xantia, well one which hasnt had a bad repair anyway. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles
