Hi,

My 2.5 decided this weekend to leave a big puddle of hydraulic oil on my drive.

It looks like the delivery pipe from the pump to the accumalator assembly has split. I don't know much about the hydraulics on these cars so I'm probably going to get Paul Johnson at the Citroen Centre to fix it.

I'm just wondering approximately how much it should cost if it is just a delivery pipe so I don't end up paying too much!

Thanks,

Andrew

Find a good Indy in your area

Paul has extreme reviews, Ive never met him but he was very fair via email. His cars are always pricey so would assume his repairs are the same

Try posting on yahoo group XM-L (see the links page on this site) good bunch of guys

Leaks are not as fatal as many are led to believe - wrong garage and you may as well burn the car. Good garage and XMs remain affordable cars

What has probably happened is that the pipe union has split where it fits into the pump, this is usually caused by a duff accumulator sphere causing shock waves in the pipe. You will have to change the pipe but it shouldn't be to difficult although I must admit all the ones I have changed have been on 2.1s.

Thanks for the replies guys,

I don't think its a duff accumulator sphere causing the problem as this was replaced just over a year ago (by Paul Johnson), just normal wear and tear probably.

I've arranged to get Paul to have a look at it and I can decide what to do from there - I haven't got time to do it myself unfortunately.

Thanks for the help,

Andrew
