FANTASTIC TIM!!!

Welcome BACK to XM motoring!!!

And an EARLY model too... I had an early 2.oi manual for a first.. it was ok, a bit slow though but ok.

I say ok, as mine was an I spec... manual seats, manual mirrors etc etc...

I dont think the 2.oi goes as well as the 2.1 td..

HOWEVER, its a FIRST edition, on a G and looks VERY tidy! WELL DONE..

The 2.0i certainly goes a lot better than the 2.0carb, now that is a bit below average in the performance department sad.gif
Well done anyway Tim biggrin.gif

Glad folk are excited about it.

I'm quite a slow driver, so I'm sure it'll be fast enough for me. It has only 2 less horsepower than my R30 (though it's probably a bit heavier).

It's not my dream model - however, if it really has been fastidiously maintained then it's going to be the kind of car I couldn't normally afford.

It's certainly more of a heart-driven purchase than anything - love that colour!

How can the 2.oi be 2 bhp less then a V6...

The 2.oi is 130bhp, isn't the R30 145bhp or so?? Im sure its not 132bhp in the R30? dry.gif

Lovly car though tim, I know of another XM I see now and again from the Wirral in that colour, a H plate 2.1 Sd ..

My R30 is the older carb-fed version of the odd-fire PRV V6 Paul - according to this source it has only 131 bhp!

http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=5775

It's quite lightly built though and for such a large car I've always liked its sprightliness.

Tim, Horse power (bhp) may be close, but the torque produced by your V6 will be much more than the 130ft/lb's the 2.0i can muster, low revs is where you will feel the difference wink.gif .

Yup - I had imagined that might be the case Dean. But then my R30 is an auto and it hasn't been using first gear for a while now - somewhat blunts the push! unsure.gif

I'm sure the XM will have all the oomph I need. smile.gif
