Hi!

Just wanted to share my BX.
It's a 4WD "wagon" registered as a 1990 but the OPR number says it's built in -92. dry.gif
Anyway, I drove it for about a year after purchase in -05.
Then suddenly the transferbox said goodbye with a strange, roaming sound and the nice BX was then parked outside the shop waiting for the change of the box (that I managed to buy used from a scrapped peugeot). After three years of parking it's now at last back in business.

This car is superb on snowy roads. The drive is divided as 53% at front and 47 % at the rear wheels. It is possible to drive through a bend with a perfectly balanced skid.
And on dry roads the roadholding itself is unbelievable, much better than a common BX. The only bad thing is that the swedish importer only took in the dull 1905 cc monopoint-engine. The 122 HP TRi-engine would have suit this car far more better...

Greetings!

That was a massive undertaking, Veglia. Unfortunately, I understand that the transfer box is the weak link in the 4WD BX.

Yes, as I know they only lasts for around 200 000 kilometers. So I got 40 000 kilometers as a bonus before mine gave up... wink.gif
And when the transferbox was still available as a sparepart from Citroën it cost 2700€.
I was lucky finding a used one for 100€...

Greetings
