Andrew,

Sorry about this but I already have the OS washer cover from this car.

There is another XM breaking on ebay that has headlight washers so I'll get in touch with the seller and see if I can get one from him.

It would make more sense for you to have this one if it matches your car as I was going to have to spray it green to match my car.

I wouldn't give up on those parts if you need them, he seems like a decent bloke, it was probably a genuine missunderstanding, he may not have realised you needed the washer covers. And you may have to wait a while for another maroon one.

Does anyone on here have a spare washer cover that they could sell me - preferably green?

Paul.

My guess is that he's talking about these wheels..........

.........large flat centre area, five double offset spokes..............?

Ah, right - that also makes sense! Though from what Andrew's been saying I'm not sure I'd want to buy 'em from this fellow.

I want to put the red 2.5TD right but may have to live a while longer with the slight misskey
in colour of the nosecone and front wings. Guess I'm not in too big a hurry to replace the 'unique'
front s1 bumper with it's alternative indicator fitment as I actually quite like it; certainly is a
different look although it annoys me hearing the second washer motor blasting away to the
non existent washers every time I use the washers. rolleyes.gif dry.gif sad.gif

I'd rather turn around and come home empty handed than feel obliged to stump up money for
something that isn't as described even after travelling from South Wales to Sussex or whatever...

If, by any chance you don't want the wheel and tyres, let me know. I'm just about fed up of trying to balance my centreless alloys. Not only is it difficult to find someone to balance them but then the balancing doesn't work and you get vibration at 70mph.
Has anyone manged to get these alloys to balance properly?

Go ahead and buy guys, maybe I'm being somewhat jaded and should follow up the
wings and nosecone! My heart's not in it now though and enthusiasm has waned
somewhat

You're not the only one with an S1 fronted S2 car Andrew........

I thought that my S2 Exclusive was a little bit more exclusive than others, due to it's S1 front end.......perhaps they're not that uncommon after all.

And I also get the loud buzz of the headlight washer motor even though there are no washers fitted.

At least your bumper has the correct headlight washers Paul!! Why aren't they working on
yours if you can hear the motor buzzing!? Don't fancy a bumper off job?

I don't mind the grille on mine if it wasn't for the fact the colour isn't quite a match. The weird
thing about the s1 bumper is the indicator/fog light units are s2 and are mounted more recessed
and square on when viewed from the front. To prevent ant excessive weather being driven around
them there has been a black 'tube' weather strip applied right round them; certainly different!

The pictures I've taken are too high up to see the lights but the nearside colour miss match is
noticeable - apparently the difference in doom maroon between s1 and s2:

Actually - the most damaged bodypanel at the front is the correctly coloured s2 one! rolleyes.gif
The bonnet is Ok too, it's the bumper, nosecone and nearside wing at fault!

Mine doesn't have any headlight washers Andrew, the bumper doesn't even have the cutouts for the washers to fit into. Its just the metal strips that have the cutouts in them.
The car suffered some sort of front end damage before I got it, and it seems to have been repaired with whatever was at hand........an S1 nose cone and a bumper from a none washer spec car, and presumably, the metalic strips from a washer equipped car.

That 2.5 looks like a really nice car, definately worth getting the parts for it. Although, if you hadn't mentioned the colour mismatch I wouldn't have noticed it. Perhaps it's more noticable in the flesh.

I love the wobbly web wheels, best Xm wheels imo, hopefully ill have a set arriving in the new year! Thanks Dean biggrin.gif

The S1 bumper also has the front under lamps swapped, indicators ar the inside ones and fogs the outide, where as its the other way around on the S2 - an odd detail to change. The S2 also has a deeper black rub strip too.

No, this one had those half leather seats that nobody else likes (but I like them, and I wouldn't mind a set).

The front seats have already been sold to somebody who just needed the bases.......presumably he'll throw the rest away.
Aparently the drivers seat was in good condition (not worn or torn), which is unusual, so it might be worth saving.

I have the buyers ebay name but I thought I'd check if it was anyone on here before I contact him through ebay.

I really like them too! Leather and alcantara. They don't feel cold, you don't slide around when you're giving it the beans round bends and the car has the air of a "Gentleman's Club". OK so the alcantara goes a bit bobbled, but not enough to bother me.
