Do you want to know how you can assist him with this worthy project?

By buying the remaining parts from him so that he can recover the cost of the XM of course.

So get buying chaps......................

What are they doing!!???!! wacko.gif

Im sure that Xm was on ebay a few weeks ago, they are the same pictures.

The likely case: A tracksuit wearing yob uses the 2.0T from the Xm, keeps his heap insured as a 1.1 and crashes into a tree and writes the thing off the first day - both cars wasted.

I have no time for people like this, they have ruined a perfectly great Xm sad.gif

Please don't get me started on this thread.

It's the same with Activas. I'm still smarting from that black CT turbo Exclusive under my
feet that I could've saved a week ago; the guy wanted to sell it to me for less than it even
ebayed for as I threatened to save it but the guy I thought was totally desperate to get a
fully loaded Xm didn't follow through with his threat... rolleyes.gif

I really can't save them all and you can't buck market trends etc etc but I get so angry
sometimes; maybe it's only in threads like this my frustration and anger may match other
that feel the same way as I.

I've seen them in auctions actually bragging about keeping 1.1/1.4 engine insurance and
they've laughing at us 'sad old gits' that like these Sh¡truns. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

I'm going to bed before I damage something or cut my wrists!

Even if all of our active members on here saved one, there would still be ones being broken, then when you do gather a small heard of them, itsthe finances involved in keeping them going. Its not a good thought that these idiots are wiping out brilliant cars, but there is little we can do about it. Which is the annoying thing!

How people get away with running big engines in cars stated as a lower powered engines i dont know. Surely MOT testing stations pick up on this fact, it should then be reported and they should be made to declare it or scrap the car. This way it may slow the trend for using Citroen engines in their rustbuckets.

Afterall, i wonder how many lives each year are lost through idiots in overpowered cars with no insurance.

I dont get this Shitrun thing, ive heard it say loads and loads of times. Maybe they just like their boring little dull boxes, they are not open to change or whatever.

It has to be said, all of our Citroens we have had in the family, they have proved very very reliable, much more so than cars of other makes we have had. They dont rust, they are fairly easy to repair if anything does need it and if kept on top of, they last a life time. Citroens generally drive and handlemuch better than rivals too. So their point doesnt even make sense. wacko.gif

Didn't notice that Ken, just up the road from you.......

I wouldn't mind if he used a car that's going for scrap anyway, but it looks like he found a really nice one. There have been several 2.0 turbo's going for scrap on Ebay recently, he could have had one of those for the engine.
But I'd feel the same whatever type of car it was if it was in that good condition. What a waste.

Look at the questions at the bottom of the page, someone told him that he can squeeze 450bhp out of that engine.......sounds like bullshit to me.

Also, he's going to sell the fuel rail and ECU.......I'd have thought he'd need them.

Depends what he is doing with the engine.........probably going for forged internals, upped boost and if he is sensible uprated head gasket, turbo and intercooler, new injection and management systems but there is no way he will get in excess of 400bhp for more than 40seconds out of that, or any 4 pot 2l engine, 200bhp could be achieved reliably, if it was done right.
It is a real shame though, i dont have a problem with what he is doing but why do it with a GOOD XM??? If it were a rusty old hound fair enough but dont scrap the good ones sad.gif
and dont even get me started on the uninsured drivers thing mad.gif

I agree with you all on the above-just watched last night's 'never Mind The Buzzcocks' and there was someone on from 'NDub' or something like it-couldn't even speak English (loosely)-looked like the kind who'd pillage an XM for its heart to be put in a 1.1 peugeot something or other.
PAH!

Alan.
