I'd paint those distinguishing numbers off the side of it to make it more unobtrusive;
it doesn't pay to stand out on the roads these days, godforbid a Gatso camera were to
be involved... wink.gif

New callsign - Citizen Smith or just miniwarzone? biggrin.gif

Thinking about it; it probably uses LESS fuel than my V6 or Activa (probably because you'll run out
of stamina driving it before it does out of fuel), 'seats' the same number of passengers and you
don't need to worry about trolley dinks in Sainsbury's carpark! Addsnew meaning to the phrase
'gunning it' too! tongue.gif

Paul, personally, I'd live with the car as it is and call it 'character'. Looks alright in the pictures; plus
nobody will mess with you out on the road or in carparks in it as much as the 'turreted option' too!

Id say thats quite expensive really, get a few more quotes i say.

Although if its a choice of paying it or the car being scrapped/broken for parts then id be paying the money for it to be on the road. If that was my Xm then i know ill be putting it right, it can be a hassle finding a replacement and why bother when you know the one you have already. If you dont want to repair it, then just live with it, after all it still drives.

As for the tank, you certainly would not have to worry about parking it in supermarkets or small dinks left by equally small minded careless people! laugh.gif

Get the tank. You could put a sign on the back reading "I hate PUGs with XM engines - pass me if you dare"

Hi Minijet,

You asked for advice, well here it is. Do you enjoy driving your car? Can you see the damage from the driving seat? And with your acknowledged driving style, how long before you collect another ding or two?

'Nuff said.

Does the tank have A/C? i think not, and besides if you jacknife the trailer when its behind the tank you will be worrying less about i ding in the towing vehicle, granted, but more about the fact you trailer and its contents will be a thin vineer on the road, ......................keep the XM and get the dent sorted later. biggrin.gif wink.gif
£400 by the way sounds a bit steep its usually £150 to repair and paint a panel with light damage so you should be looking at £300 max all in.

Good luck with whatever you do

Thanks for all the replies.

I think £400 plus is more than I want to pay for it, I'll get another estimate some time.
I can live with it like that in the short term, but I'll have to get it fixed eventually. Everytime I see it, it reminds me what a dozy pillock I can be at times sad.gif

Good point about it happening again Derek, I think I'll have to get a little pole with a flag on it to put on the trailer, so that I don't forget it's there.
While I'm at it I'll put a little notice on the dashboard to remind me to put the hand brake on so I won't have to replace the headlight washer and repair the bumper again unsure.gif

I think I'll give the tank a miss, I don't think I could resist the temptation to drive straight over this thing..............
