Trust me... it will be like that before 2008 draws to a close.
I'll pick up the Etoiles on December 1, then have them sandblasted, laquered, and Michelin'ed soon!

Very nice, id like a set of those wheels for mine, not sure where i would find a set though wacko.gif Also, i believe they need different wheel bolts, which are expensive new, as i have priced them.

Michelins ... do most people on here tend to stick with michies? Mine doesnt have michelins now, but it would seem they are the choice for nearly all Citroen owners!

Yours should look much better with those wheels on ... and you can update your signiture too biggrin.gif

Hi all,

The 2.1 was traded in! Great car, had done a lot of miles.

Thanks to andrew for the advice with Photobucket, I shall use that from now on!

Special Hi to Citroenmad, sorry mate, was the first user name that came to mind as I registered.....

Some lovely looking XM's on here.... I must say the "Jellyfish alloys" really do suit the XM

It just so happened that the Cit diesel and hydraulics specialist I have an appointment with (Renard) happened to have a set lying around, which I snapped up.

And Michelins? They're quiet throughout their serviceable life (unlike the Duplops, which start to sound like a helicopter after 20k miles), they stick to the road like shit to a blanket, and they are Cit's original tyres. What more would I want?

Ah not to worry, i was joking biggrin.gif

"Jellyfish" these wheels have a lot of names, whatever they are called, they are the nicest wheel for the Xm cool.gif

Peterh, yes im sure it could fit in a few cars laugh.gif

If you search for 'Citroen TIsser' in google, all kinds of odd Citroens appear. Ive just found a picture on our Chausson C15 on one of the sites!

Very lucky finding a set of them at a local Cit specialist!

Yes i agree, i have Michelins on my Seat, although ive now got Vredestein sportracs on the Xm and they are one of the best tyres ive used! I cant help thinking i should have put michelins on that though, keep it authentic! laugh.gif

The bolts are common on Pug alloys so a visit to a large helpful breakers will sort them out
inexpensively IF you can't find any on ebay. As per John's comprehensive explanation of the
wheel options describes, the early (more prone to oxidation) one's use a flat shouldered bolt
with a captive washer but the later s2 one's with solid centered design can use a 60 degree
shoulder or even a dual shoulder design. You just need to know what you're after once you
get hold of some wheels! biggrin.gif

You rarely see them on ebay; really as rare as the flatter 24v one's.
Cheaper and easier to buy a car off ebay with them on... wacko.gif

I've found Vredestein's and Continental's very good tyres - many tests seem to prefer these
kind of makes over Michelin in wet weather grip which let's face it, is about 300 days of the year...

Thanks!

No i dont live in Scotland! I live in the NorthEast dry.gif

You live in the I.O.W yes? Hmm would you post?!

What condition are they in, how much do you want for them?

They are 15" arnt they, so fitting my own 195/65/15 tyres will be fine?

Tyres are legal......just, but i sure as hell wouldnt run on them, condition? well they are ok, some idiot in the past has put steel wheel ballancing weights on which has caused them to oxidise a bit but nothing major.
TBH for your car i would have them blasted and re-painted as yours looks pucker and anything other than perfect would obviously let it down.
Yes im on the I.O.W and you can have them since you want em so bad, same size tyres but i will have to see if i have the bolts (early type) they may have been misplaced somewhere in my garages filing system biggrin.gif
If your keen i will hook em out and post some pics

Regards

There's no better man than a volunteer Peter!!

There's an effective parts relay system in operation on the FCF and we're all Citroen fanatics
(nutters) in the end so it'd be a great excuse to meet and put faces to forum names!
