2 Litre Turbo Exclusive Hatch - Tax Now Out - £150, P reg - Auto - 6 months MOT ~130k

I'm very keen, I really like the look of it.

Just not sure if I can spare the cash (inc tax and getting it back to Leeds) this close to Christmas...........maybe, if I can offload one of my other XM's quickly.........I'll see what I can do.

Okay - time for a rant now.

Between minijet, 2smv627 and myself we had this sorted.

I arranged with the seller to pay him the £150 on the way home from work tonight.

I switched the insurance from my R30 to the XM so I could get it all legally covered and taxed to move it. This cost me £25 plus an extra £80 additional premium.

Now the seller has just 'phoned me to say he's sold the car for £550.

So good for him. I'm glad he's got more money for it, but when I explained the expenses I'd incurred there was no offer of sharing a little of his good fortune to cover my loses. He did tell me that with Christmas coming up he needed the money - well so do I fella!!

Insurers have said I'll get the additional premium back, but the £25 is gone. Plus I have to send back the docs for the XM when they arrive, and the original docs for the R30 as they've had to issue new ones for that.

I'm reet cheesed off at the guy.

Good thing minijet hadn't yet bought the train ticket to come down for the car or he'd be out of pocket too.

I've a good mind to stop off at the chap's house on the way home to ask for the £25 - but I don't think I'd get it.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would pay £550 for a car that was advertised at £450

I think the seller is a bullshitter, he was so desperate he phoned Tim and offered it to him for £150, then said he'd have to scrap it for £100 if it wasn't gone by Monday.......I think that's more likely, and he's just saving face.

I really liked the look of that car too......especially at the very reasonable price of £150.....plus tax of course......and the train fare......and the petrol to get it home........still a bargain though. I'm really disappointed tonight.

I must add that Tim was going to a lot of trouble and expence to arrange for me to get the car, for which I am very grateful.

Paul (citroenxm) - I did wonder if it was less likey to be 'puggered' as it's an auto and would require a flywheel to be of use to them?

He did originally advertise it at £650 and reckons the new owner had seen that advert and haggled him down to £550.

It will be interesting to do a dvla check in a couple of months and see if it still exists? I reckon you're right and it's been given to the scrappy and I've been spun a tale to save face. He kept saying he was keen to see it saved.

Never mind.

If that's true......I hope the new owner never sees a copy of the later £450 advert


I just can't get over how nice that XM looks in white......so much nicer than my green one........

actually, I've a bit of spare time on my hands this week.......and I think there's a couple of tins of white emulsion in the cupboard...............................................

I'd just keep an eye out for it on ebay - it will turn up there for spares although the engine will

AKA Mouseflakes (Tim) - Me too, id keep an eye on DVLA and run the plates in about a months time.... and see what comes of it...

Auto/Manual is irrelevant - they'll just swap the flywheel over as the box and flywheels are common size 1.9i and 2.oi blocks....

If it has been bought by a pug go-cart owner I've no doubt we'll be seeing the remains touted on ebay in the near future.

IF! only IF, and IF it has, thats 3 in two weeks, Ive just gone through the XM Partson Ebay and Im certain I seen 3 XM Turbos for parts - Everything available EXCEPT engines!!

HOWEVER, one is availabe for parts because the manifold has cracked.....

The one with the cracked manifold is a member of XM-L, he's sorting out a few bits for me.
He doesn't know it yet, but I'm going to be tapping him for a front pipe (cat) as well, as I found out today that mine is knackered, if he can't supply it I may have to grit my teeth and go to one of the pug butchers for it.

Are they the same as the 3 litre V6, I got about three S1 V6 cats in the garage...
