My 2.5TD has the nearside(UK) mirror which dips down when reversing. This started becoming intermittent to the point of working once a week if lucky. It also appears to be linked to the rear reversing lights refusing to come on. I'm presuming that the two problems are linked. If I waddle the gear lever whilst in the reverse position it does sometimes work.

Hi Shoestring
The reversing light switch also sends a signal to the mirror dip control box. Looks like you will be getting familiar with the gear box. John -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Yup. Not the easiest thing to get at. I did mine from under the L/H wheelarch, but still not easy.
