Hi Robert, I believe the car Robert bought was indeed a blue 2.1TD auto, with 70k on it, but from Randalstown instead of Ballymena Hi ( Is that up your neck of the woods? I'm rarely up that way much these days. Will be interesting to see if its the same car. Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)

Sure; it's not exactly information that could jeopardize the Nation's security or financial stability...
but there is also data protection etc etc etc. Telling a bunch of car nutters how many remaining examples are being taxed or SORNED by Joe public would put his affairs in jeopardy... Andrew |

Wonder if our newest member (no 1001) who calls himself 'xmconvertible' has anything different
to share with us and cares to fill out more background to his name... Just have pictures in my head of that one off unfinished two door convertible I've seen on my travels on the net!! Andrew |

I hope there is some truth in his name! That would be awsome.
I found a picture of a xantia cabrio on the internet a while back, it looked stunning: This post has been edited by Citroenmad on October 26, 2008 01:56 pm -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Hi Ciarán'
No I deduced the location from the miles distance and telephone code so should have said Ballymena area which could be Randalstown. The seller mentioed that he had two other XMs but wanted something more suitable for his son to learn to drive on hence the sale of third car. It will be interesting to see if it is the same car and what the other XMs were. Just when you think there are none left a few more tumble out of the woodwork! Robert |

I've seen this before - sadly a PHOTOSHOP job and not a particularly good one at that.
The roof and interior belongs to that of a BMW. Now an Xm convertible has been made though the pictures I've seen showed it incomplete - can't find them on the net at the moment either...! Andrew |

Hi Robert,
I believe it is the same car then, the guy selling it had other XMs, including the silver June 2000 V6 bought off Roy McKay of this forum... Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)

It doesnt look quite right does it!
The roof is the biggest thing which gives it away for me. Nice idea though, it would have looked very smart had it been real! An XM cabrio would be pretty something ... ill try and find the pictures. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

That's the one - well the green one in a quarry I have seen, plus the grey one rings a faint bell
- notice you don't see it with the hood up... That white one if it is real is just nasty! Andrew This post has been edited by Andmcit on October 26, 2008 11:03 pm |

That white/silver 5 door must be a Citroen concept maybe? Well atleast the roof fits on that
Talking of big cabrio Citroens ... ![]() Its a shame the back of the CX Orphee is not as nice as the front Here: -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Hi Ciarán,
Yes I remember that silver one. One of those rare occasions where buyer and seller were both very pleased with the deal. The 2.1 should be a well cared for example in that context. All will be revealed in due course, no doubt. The only one in my neck of the woods that I am aware of is a black manual 2.1 td vsx belonging to one of the fitters in Donnelly Citroen. The bright trim was oversprayed black, presumably because of the usual discolouration. Can't say I would recommend that treatment. Robert. |

Well done Club-XM!!
While we're on the subject - isn't is strange how many of us love the Activa too? I loved mine and it's handling, but had too many cars last year and sold it to a mate for £600. He has just sold it on e-bay for £150. The buyer got a bargain because the activa system was completely perfect and apart from a small crease on the front wing and a couple of stone chips, it was a solid car. Strangely (it must have been lighter), it towed my caravan much better than any of my XM's. ![]() ![]() Now I look at the pictures I wish I'd bought it back off him. Anyone who hasn't experienced the Activa - I'd thoroughly recommend trying one.
