I guess a lot of us would love this, but probably not at the price he thinks he'll be getting.

Im confused though, all those silver ones that got some attention on here recently, i was under the impression that someone had built them from scratch D -------------------- 92 xm 20i prestige auto (modified)R.P 5678

About 158K miles?
Your right about the silver ones, i think they might be old ambulances. Not sure though, Tissier did make a van i think? Id certainly not want to buy an old ambulance, its possibly worse than buying a used hurse. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Hi guys, Tissier did indeed build vans as well as ambulances, I think I mentioned them recently on another thread. Mostly they were used to ferry newspapers between financial centres (notably Paris and Frankfurt, round trip every night).
See club website for loads of interesting stuff. http://www.amicale-tissier.net/ Even found an SM 5 axle flatbed transporter :- http://home.zonnet.nl/r.kerstens/citroen%20sm%20tissier.htm Apologies that I still haven't mastered the hyperlink thingy so it's " cut n paste " I'm afraid. Putting the mental arithmetic hat on.. multiply KM by .625 to give miles or 1.6 to the Mile. (252500 gives 157812 miles, it was used for sporting medical backup rather than health service use) 4.54 litres to the gallon if you're doing fuel. Nothing wrong with hearses, have had dealings with a 1933 McLaughlin Buick, 1963 Cadillac and owned a 1948 Humber. All good fun. It would seem that Pierre Tissier was indeed the very epitome of Dean's vision of the mad creative European, but with GRP laminating brush as well as torch. Many other Frenchmen have followed his lead and built their own " plateaux" (flatbed transporters) from all sorts of Citroens. (see links from club site above). Apologies for straying a little off "available" I wish more of this stuff was....but you seldom ever see it for sale. I guess we'll have to build our own. If someone can turn up the Tissier moulds, I can laminate GRP. Enjoy drooling, -------------------- Rodders,

Tissier Ambulance. Ebay 220313845697
Another one with no reserve auction running with €1200 start. That sounds a bit more realistic. Rodders. This post has been edited by roddew on November 21, 2008 10:31 am -------------------- Rodders,
