It does look nice, and probably the going rate, although you could easily buy a complete non-road-going Xm for that!

I noticed the drivers seat is looking a little tired. Although im sure a good clean and a bit of leather care would bring it up better.
Nice addition to an XM though, id be tempted if i had a dark coloured Xm, i think it would suit it well. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Hi All
I think the foam in the side edges of the drivers seat has deformed and am not so sure that the front seats would clean up fully to match the rest of the leather. Cream leather is not easy to keep in good order. Still it is better that the torn/worn seuede on most high mileage grey leather Mk2 drivers seats. I find Xm interiors very hard wearing, mine has done 83000 miles and it still looks like brand new inside. Not even any wear on the drivers seat.
That drivers seat does look a bit of a funny shape. -------------------- 1995 'N' XM 2.1TD VSX Manual Estate, magenta red - 62K miles

Hi John
As a matter of interest can the front seats be swapped across to even out any wear. Non side airbag ones I should have said! Regards, Robert This post has been edited by robertxmb on October 20, 2008 09:22 am |

Hi Robert
The two front seat base squabs are handed and cannot be swapped between the seats. It is possible to swap the seat back covers, On-the-cut did it with his drivers seat but he needed to source a donor passenger seat cover to replace his ripped drivers one. When the foam in the seat base is gone soft and deformed it is possible recover a good cloth one. I have found the seat upholstery tedious work but fairly rewarding once finished. Before long I want to start on sorting out heated seats for most of the cars which will be mean a round of carpets and underfloor wiring followed by the seat upholstery to repair/insert the heating elements. Hi John,
Thanks for the low-down on that. My seats are good but the drivers one is more used looking than the passenger seat. Will keep a note of your advice for possible future use. Regards, Robert. |

You're going to have a very rare XM Stuart, it's the first one I've seen. What colour's your car? I thought they would suit a 'champagne gold car', although there aren't many about. -------------------- 94M 2.0 Turbo Exclusive auto hatch, Green, RP 6552

People keep telling me to scrap my Prestige and put the black seats in th VSX. Not only am I mad and do not want to scrap the Prestige (LOL) but I think black seats will look really crap in a VSX with grey carpet and headliner. These cream seats however I decided might look quite nice. However I am glad someone here picked them up, no way can I afford them. I did mail the seller however and I may end up getting a bumper and a wing from him to fix up the front of the VSX. -------------------- XM 2.0i Prestiege (Red) 1992 K reg RP 5692 (deceased)
