Yeah I think it's manuals too though... It's a staggering two DVD's FULL !

I presume it is the Laser system that dealers have. There is a thread on XM-L about someone selling it for £17.50 at the moment in the internet.

I would be tempted, but you have to ring them with an activation key when you install it and they have to give you an authorisation key. Someone like that is unlikely to still be there when you next reinstall your PC.

That sounds more like the Citroen DocBackup info which as its name suggests is a standalone version of the information to which Citroen dealers have online access.

Various UK and European sellers offer this on eBay for around £20 to £30. I bought a copy mainly to gain some maintenance info on my Citroen C4. Such information is not yet available from Haynes or any other publisher as far as I am aware (probably because so many operations (eg changing the brake fluid) now require the use of the Lexia computer maintenance/diagnostic set up).

Seems like different sellers have different methods of getting round the copy protection then. Shame you can't tell for sure what they do before spending your money in many cases.

I think you are right. The format of DocBackup is just the same as that used on the Citroen Service website.

I had trouble installing my eBay copy of DocBackup because the 'unlocking key' supplied would not work on my PC however it did work on my son's PC for some unknown reason. However after a few emails to the seller, I received a different 'key' which worked on my own PC.

The best way to assess seller's backup is to read their feedback and see how other buyers have got on with installing it.

don't upset the locals, there Big BX's will get all envious if we talk about proper Citroens .... Think of it, proper brakes without springs under the pedals, proper high pressure steering racks, proper center point steering..... Always plenty warm enough, lots of squeaks, rattles, bumps, thumps and vibrations to keep you guessing and on edge ..... What could be better than a proper rattly, vibrating, stinking bloody hot Citroen

It is nice to climb into the XM, punch the "windscreen" icon on the climate control hear the air-con and fans kick to life, while you have warm air gently wafting towards you while the car demists in the blink of an eye..... Now if ti was a proper Citroen you'd have any bit of fabric/rag/cloth you could find smearing the windscreen, while you have the fans howling away (having little to no effect on it's demisting ability) while you contemplate holding your breath and winding down the windows

I think all the Aussie cars have alway had extra "strengthening" plates and "rough terrain" bits added... Even back in the DS and CX, GS times !

No, no no !!!

you have me wrong, the CX's and DS's are vastly superior in every aspect, all owners of them will tell you this.... This is because the heat stroke from traveling in them has permanently damaged there brain function to the point where nothing else is good enough.

Gimme my smelly, rattly, tired, noisy old CX anyday ..... er, except where it over 30degrees.... And um, when the suns out .... and um, when it's steamy and the windows need to demist... It's a disease I tell you I wouldn't swap my CX for a dozen XM's !
