In one of readings on XM which I did at the beginning of my XM passion, there was a mention of electronic check up of bulbs done by sending low current through them in switch on diagnostic routine and related failures due to corrosion and resistance build up. Since then, I have had several bulb failures (direction light, head light and fog light) but my car has never warned me about.
Is XM supposed to test bulbs as well? I found no mention on it in any of manuals. -------------------- XM 3.0 V6 Exclusive 1997 RP 6591

I think it is just the rear lights and brake lights that are tested, in S1 cars only,

My S1 also definitely told me my front parking light wasn't working (in the German original, "fehlerhaftes Standlicht" aka "faulty parking light")
