Hi all,
There is someone on the dutch yahoo Xm yahoo group who claims that every 2.5TD was fitted with all the bells and whistles for cruise control but that only those who paid for it got it activated by getting the two switches. For obvious reasons I am now investigating. Could someone point me in the direction of the important bits like servo and electrical control box etc...?? (pictures??) I've already removed the blank in the dashboard (in the row of buttons) and it does indeed have the wireing for that button. I just don't know what it is I'm looking for next. Thanks -------------------- '94 Xm 2.5 TD vsx + cruise + fogs!!

Hi Niek,
I've never done it but you're right. Apparently all you need is the additional stalk on the steering column with the switches. All the other components are already iinstalled. A couple of people o nYahoo have done it but I'm not sure of the exact details. I'll try to find out though because if it really is that easy I might have a go at it myself. Yes and apparantly this button too although I have no idea why you would need another button to activate the cruise control??
I thought it would be wise to check if indeed all components are on the car, but don't know what to look for? -------------------- '94 Xm 2.5 TD vsx + cruise + fogs!!

If all the necessary equipment is fitted you should be able to see the vacuum motor under the bonnet. It looks like a squashed barrel on its side, black and about four inches diameter and with a circumferential rolled joint around its middle. The pipe from the vacuum pump comes into one end and an operating rod comes out from the other and attaches to the throttle quadrant on the V6 - I'm not sure about the 2.5D but it will be to the same attachment as the accelerator cable.

Hi Derek,
I've never seen the kit to convert the 2.5 but I don't think it contains an actuator for the throttle. The throttle is fly-by-wire. In which case the ecu will keep the revs up rather than an actuator. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

Incidentally, Norris, I sent you an e-mail some while ago via the other forum concerning your CD -------------------- 1999 3.0V624v Exclusive Black! (RP8362)

Derek,
I replied twice to your e-mail but your server says the following: "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server. *****@pe220tu.freeserve.co.uk" I put the asterix's in. I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks leaving about midday today. If you reply before then I'll stick one in the post. Otherwise it'll have to wait a couple of weeks. Hi Niek and All
Have successfully done all three 2.5 TD's of mine. You just need to drill one hole and fit the two switches if the wiring and plugs is in place as it was on mine 95N onwards (oldest RPN 6741, newest RPN 6820). ECU recognises the cruise on next start up, there is no need to do anything else. I will look for some photos and submit a self help file in the next few days. I would be surprised if any 2.5 VSX's of any age were manufactured with a different wiring loom from the exclusive models but cannot guarantee this. I base this on the fact that all three of mine were VSX's but also have all the wiring present for aircon equipment as well as the cruise despite it not being fitted. I need to give credit to Paul Johnson at the Citroen Centre, Oxford who provided me with the information to fit the first one. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.

Hi xmexec et all
Self help would be much appreciated. I think I'll be able to localise the two switches shortly and will then give it a go. I'm going to do the same with the front fogs, all wireing is in place, just need the units (got them yesterday) and the switch. Are there any other goodies easily installed? (saw a blank connetor underneath the bumper corner (next to the indicator/fog light unit) I think it was a four-pole. Might it be for an auxilliairy heater (I think it should live somewhere down there when fitted) Cheers, Niek -------------------- '94 Xm 2.5 TD vsx + cruise + fogs!!
