German » English Translate

I versteigere my XM with front damage. Was out on 7.04.2008. TUV 01.08, AU 06.08
XM vehicle is a V6 (Y4) Exclusive, built in 1997 with Kilometers: 306080th Vehicle has black leather interior, radio with 6-CD changer and
electric glass sunroof. Engine and transmission are responsible for the high mileage in good condition. Exhaust is in the middle almost durchgerostet.
A few days before the accident, the message "ABS Funktionsfähig not," I guess only the ABS plug on the right front axle.
The two small lateral status lights are still available and completely. The radiator, hood and fenders are not damaged.
The windows at the two front doors do not work (typical XM passion), the rear are ok. Heated seats on the driver's seat will also no longer.
Rear he sackt high and difficult to turning off the engine after some time, faster than the front. Estimated the rear balls are flat.
With the vehicle has a passenger seat and a rear seat with this, as the aluminium wheels, the summer tires are mounted quite down.
And for inexplicable reasons, the tailgate since the accident no longer open. Perhaps with brute force, but I did not want to try.
I think the car is too cool to be scrapped, it is safe for a few screwdrivers to use parts.

Location is in Röthenbach Lkrs. Lindau, with Röthenbach please do not confuse near Nuremberg.

Sales only to Selbstabholer. After negotiations pick up are excluded.
Since private sales no guarantee withdrawal or warranty.
Enjoy your bidding!

Good old Google translation!

I recognise "durchgerostet" as rusted through.

Reminds me of the mock German that American forces personnel used to come up with, regularly reported in the late lamented "Saturday Evening Post".

Examples:

Ein laudenboomer - a bomb.
Ein eargeschplitten laudenboomer - a big bomb.
Ein eargeschplitten laudenboomer mit grosse holengraund und alles kaput - a nuclear bomb.
And my favourite, Das huffpuffupandflingermaschine - a steam catapault, as on an aircraft carrier.

They were also responsible in 1956, despite other subsequent claims, for the famous "das computermaschine ist nicht fur gefingerpoken und mittengrabben, ist easy schnappen der springwerk etc, etc.

That rusted through sounds a bit bad!

Quite a chunky mileage on it really, isn't there! Shows the newer V6 motors can do it!
In fact, is it a 24v'er if it's manual - could it just be a 12v'er!?

What is the exact differentiation between Y3 and Y4 in Germany/France; is this S1 and S2?
I've seen the listing recently somewhere online IIRC but didn't stop to take it in - Valeo's
web catalogue?

Good excuse to get a DIRAVI'd XM V6 though!

actual front-end damage doesn't look too bad either, just the nose, headlights and bumper, but maybe the front fan panel too. Don't the Y4 (s2) have windbags? and pyrotechnic seatbelt pre-tensioners? looks like they didn't deploy, or those bits are already changed over.

Hmm, wonder if I bowled up with a spare S1 nose & lights and cable-tied the bumper back on if it'd be driveable back home wink.gif

might even have a spare exhaust box - ah but then it's a late V6 so maybe not

regards
Dave

Thats the kinda stupid thing I'd do for a laugh if it hadn't done such an astronomical mileage!!

Wonder how the Missus fancies a trip to Germany with the Ifor Williams....

Still - cheap enough to buy so the cost is your time and fuel and that's not as massive
a distance as it sounds - south of France is further!! tongue.gif

Hi Andrew

The Y3 & Y4 come from the front end of the cars VIN number so all Mk2's are Y4. On the VIN plate I could lay my hands on was VF7Y3AW0000AW50xx, which was a V6 auto estate Mk1.
Citroen made late Mk2 V6 manuals but not for the UK market. Variants of the MGT5B manual box used with the 2.5TD along with hydraulic linkage were fitted to all 3 types of V6 engine used in the Mk2's. Neither Citroenxm or myself have yet managed to track down if the variations were just gear ratios or physical differences in the box casing.
I see that AEP are currently offering a clutch for a Mk2 V6-24 v on ebay so they must hope at least one import exists in the UK.

Regards

John

Cheers for the clarification John. They're always using this Y3/4 in Germany...

BTW - I quite like the Ronin look of this ebay.de car!! smile.gif

Hey guys,

This is not a 24v of any sort, "just" a 12v PRV -see Q&A-.

Still happy to see it looks like it will be saved...4 bids...hope none is a scrapper!

cheers

Yes of course, I don't think the ES9J4 arrived until 1998.

Mind, only Citroen manages to make a top of the range model look like the base spec one
and vice versa. Hardly any badges too - only way to tell is the way it goes and sounds! rolleyes.gif

Still a bargain even if it's a 12v'er!!
