and the clutch cable adjuster info.
Think Peter had described the reset earlier, or maybe elsewhere, but basically you have to take the spring pressure off the adjuster part by pulling it away from the pivot section, he suggested bending an old wire coathanger to suit. Once this is done you should be able to ease the outer cable back away from the pivot towards the clutch. Pedal should be in the raised position, and a helper would make life much easier. Not sure what the ref in the attached page is about the screws on the clutch pedal, maybe if I get time I'll take a look in the garage as I have a set of pedals in there somewhere, think they were from a manual. Can't see how they'd reset the adjust mechanism though... hope that helps Dave -------------------- G-reg XM V6SEi saloon, light blue, RP4764

Thanks for the help
It has finally dawned on me that the cable is the self ajusting type, it just did'nt look like the black plastic lump could be an ajusting mechanism. The old cable never clicked and now the new cacle seems to have settled down to click once or twice after about 20 mins driving.I re-routed the cable a little higher on its run along the bulkhead and this seems to make it click less, possibly because this makes the spring press harder on the ajuster. Maybe using some sort of spacer at the end of the spring to make the spring press with more force on the ajuster may make it grip the outer cable more and click less ,I may try this Thanks once again Ray |
