Abs Hydraulic Block, ABS type

I have had a problem for a long time with this and have posted on this before. There seemed to be some confusion as to wether it was Bendix or Teves so I have taken a photo (as best I could)

Question 1, Are the 2 allen screws that can be seen the bleed screws?

Question 2 Is this a Teves system
The abs sensors on the front are certainly Teves, the connectors are blue and have Ate on them. I replaced the front n/s a couple of years ago.

Question 3 Where is the ABS relay situated ?

Do not recognise the photo as an ABS block of either type. Haynes page 10.3 has a photo of the Bendix ABS block showing the bleed bolts arrowed. This is taken in the front wheel arch with the plastic shield behind the wheel removed. Teves ABS block is found in the same place but has no bleed points as it self bleeds. The Teves ABS relay is a Purple one clipped on the front of the Engine bay ECU box. It sits between the Brown double relay and the drivers side wing. I will check to see if Bendix cars have an empty relay base here or if there is no wiring present.

Thanks xmexclusive, This unit is behind the front n/s wheel arch just behind (going inwards) the suspension bracket. Looking at the Haynes manual it is in exactly the same place as the bendix one which is shown in the book.

I have an intermittent problem with the abs, seems to come on for no obvious reason. I switch the car off, re-start it and its fine again for another couple of days.
The other problem is that when applying the brakes lightly when coming to a stop, the front brake pads seem to release and sort of clonk on and off. When the ABS is out of use this problem does not occur and the brakes are fine.

I assume that the system I have is Teves so no bleeding is neccessary. I have attempted to bleed through the 2 allen keys shown, the LHM pushes out but doesn't seem to have any effect on the brakes.

Hi jackyboy, can't be 100% but am inclined to the TEVES, an evolution fit after the bendix up to rp8028.Go to citroen service input your vin and pull up the parts for abs.That will confirm type of installation.

If I go over to the unit tonight I will see if I can get a look at the bottom half of a Teves ABS block. I think there is one in the subframe pile behind a set of estate doors so hopefully not too difficult to get to. I think that at regular intervals the ABS ECU counts pulses on the sensors while the car is moving while the brake is not applied. If the ECU sees a count error enough times it switches the ABS off as faulty and puts up the ABS light. On restarting the car the ECU starts the process again. I had this light comming on problem on a Teves fitted car and finally tracked it down to a front sensor with an excessive air gap. The sensor fixing bolt was snapped but the head had been glued back into the sensor so all look well and the bolt tested tight. I have a Bendix fitted car that sometimes appears to release the front brakes and I think Citroenxm has reported similar problems. Bleeding the brakes and the ABS block did not effect a permanent cure on this car and I am still working to understand what could cause this sort of intermittent fault.
