Well done David. That's the sort of dogged determination that XM owners are renowned for - in fact without it you couldn't run one! Not viably anyway.

Good work smile.gif
I now remember something Lazslo Torok wrote on XM-L a month ago.

Here it is:

quote: On s2 LHD cars, there is a white connector under the glovebox - it is
secured same way as the diagnostic connector - and i saw a lot of
problems with that connector - most of services are unable to put that
together correctly due it's securing clip. The hydractive ecu is getting
power via that connector.

Dunno about RHD, but i guess the same connector must be there too. (guess,
under the steering wheel) unquote. wink.gif

Hi All

The plug type is "cinch" and has a locking frame with tapered slots in the sides that forces the plug and socket contacts hard together. It requires some force to push the locking frame home and the plug and socket appear mated together long before the assembly is fully locked. They are more common on Pugs but a few variants are used on Mk2 XM's. The multifunctional drivers window motor on VSX's and Exclusives uses one as does the fly by wire Potentiometer.
