Hello all,

I am living at Hongkong. I have my XM V6 12V since 1990. Right now I face a problem - a lot of air bubble going into the LHM tank. Something my car gets pressure loss, steering is hard, no suspension and no brake. Would anybody give me advice. Thanks.

Hi HKLO

as Peter says in the other thread, it's has to be that air is absorbed by the LHM pump. So check the sunction pipe, circled in red:

Hello Peter and Jorqy9

Thanks for your advise. I will check it. Can I change that pipe by a substitute not original.

Thanks

Hello Jprqy9

Do know how to open the V6 12V hydraulic pump? If so, please advise. As the pump horse is broken.

Thanks.

Hi,

Theres is your answer, the hose is held on simply by a clip, the pump is VERY hard to get at to make adjustment..

Down the back of the engine below the pump theres a 13mm nut, undo that, and in the same area theres a long type of Allen bolt, the allen bolt is the adjuster which swings the pump to tighten the belt, or slacken, it is QUITE hard to get at... if you have more problems I have an engine out of the car to get clearer pictures..

HAVING said that, if its only a split pipe then just changing the pipe will sort it..

Break the clips on each end of the hose circirled in the above picture and change the hose, refit one end on the pump then if you can fill the hose with fresh LHM, and fit the other to the tank DONT FORGET the other hose clip... then UNDER the car you will need to open the Pressure Bleed screw on the regulator... start the car, this will then automatically bleed the system. The bleed screw on the regulator MUST BE OPENED to bleed.

Ramps would be VERY usefull, on the V6 you can only get to the regulator from under the car. The regualtor is the unit on the front of the engine with a sphere on it. There is a 12mm nut you need to undo 2 TURNS ONLY.

Sorry if you know this already, as your a new member, we dont know how much you know..

GOOD LUCK

Rgds
Paul

I'd add that you need to get a hose that is suitable for use with LHM if you are thinking to use a non-Citroen replacement, or it will likely perish and add lots of extra issues into the system to deal with...

(again, you probably know this already, but just in case)

regards
David

Hello all,

I have a BX19. Can I move BX19 hydraulic pump into XM 3.0V6 12V? Is it same?

Thanks.

I dont think theres a problem with your pump.. you just need to change the feed pipe that circuled in the picture above.. Leave the pump alone its ok..
