Hi guys
Changed the accumulator sphere last weekend as there was only a 5 or 6 second gap between the regulator clicks. After the confrontation was over the gap went to 45 - 50 seconds, job done I thought. Noticed just now that the gap is back down to 7 or 8 seconds. Now, is that the sign of a duff sphere or is there something I've missed? Bob -------------------- 1993 XM 2.1 td estate, it's green.

Hi Bob
It could be a duff sphere but its unlikely. There are many other places that the system can be loosing pressure, the pressure regulator, distribution valve, brake valve, height correctors, suspension struts........... If it functions OK I wouldn't worry about it, one of mine has been doing this for about 50k miles, I've changed the regulator and DV block with little effect but have now learned to live with it. The only other possibility I can think of is the filters in the hydraulic reservoir, perhaps could do with a clean. Peter.N. -------------------- Used to have:

Leaky brake valve is favourite for pressure losses like that, but as Peter says, unless its causing an issue, its probably not much to worry about.
You can check which circuit is returning a lot of fluid to the reservoir, by pulling off the rubber return hoses and checking the volume of flow. I can't remember which is which, but depending on which pipe is returning an excessive amount of fluid, will tell you which device is consuming / leaking pressure. Someone here will be able to advise which pipe does what. Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)
