Hi All,
After having all the spheres,Lhm replaced and the filters cleaned by Westroen 4 months ago the ride has been very good, But Yesterday after picking up my elderly father (i Lift the Suspension up to the top so he can get into the car more easily) on dropping down to normal ride something as gone amise at the front the car bounces as if the spheres are flat. I Rang Westroen and discribed the fault to them and they suggested a test which i did, Ran the engine the suspension lifted to the correct height the checked the ride on all four corners the back was nice and soft but the front was a little hard having the diesel Engine its quite heavy to lift up and down turned off the engine and listened to the electro valves buzzing away (Suspension Normal) a definate clunk when they de-energised and the suspension went hard. I have tried a dozen citrobics to no avail, having read what there is on the forum i suspect the Front Flow distributor, i rang the local citroen Garage (I'm on holiday in Huddersfield Returning to Essex Thursday Morning) and asked them if they could run diagnostics on it and they said not for a week next friday and it would be £65 +vat told them my position but they said they were chock a block with service. Hopefully i will make it back to essex with out doing any damage to whatever is causing the problem. Anybody got any ideas? Update on the bumpy ride, Tried a few Citroen indies but no luck then got the phone no of M & M Motors of Holmbridge Gave them a ring and said bring it down put the Diagnostic m/c on it loads of errors, cleared them all then went for a drive round loads of bumpy roads came back ran the diagnostics again and found no fault !! So his Xm Mechanic took it for a spin and found the problem straight away.
The front Height corrector was sticking too high so a quick squirt with something and all is back to normal and all for £41.00 He also mentioned the auto box was holding on "reving too high before it changed up" checked the Oil nice golden colour. Just come back to tilbury and all is as it should be, Happy bunny again. Regards, Norman -------------------- Ex 98 Xm Vsx 2.1 Td Silver Estate RP 7548

Well done Norman. I must say I was impressed with your Xm when we met at the National. Glad it's sorted.

Very interesting, the front of mine has also been behaving similar to this, must give the height corrector a look...

Hi Ciarán,
What he did was move the height lever up one notch and it reproduced the symptoms bumpy ride with little floating motion, It was much better on the homeward journey but once i got here it seems to be not as floaty as it should be its a little hard over the speed bumps where before is was a lot softer, so i think something is still not right, but its work tomorrow so i will have to have a look when i can. Thanks Norman. Hope you can get the time to have a look at yours.
I know what you mean about the speed bumps, there are dozens I have to go over to get out of this road here, and they are always a good test of what mood the XM feels like being in today.... Mine is driving me crazy, its hard one minute, soft the next, electrics seem fine... I'm beginning to suspect pressure problems, as per George's long running saga.... Let us know how you get on with yours Ciarán -------------------- '95 XM 2.1TD VSX Hatch: RP 6429. Rare green ;-)
