72k miles and AC no roof with black leather.

Needs surgery to all 4 windows, its door mirrors and rear exhaust and may need spheres.
Bit of a rough diamond this one and not helped with dented offside front wing! It drives a bit
crudely too as exhaust vibrates and spheres are all at sea and Abs light is permanently on so
likely needs sensor(s).

Engine, autobox and tyres as good as gold. Would respond well to tlc and polish. I don't need
it as such but its offered to me and if I don't want it, the owner will be interested in offers from
you guys!

What's it worth if I take leave of my senses!?

As with any 10+ year old car with no MOT (you didn't mention one), I'd say it's worth its value in weight. That's £150 to £200 round here at the moment. It must be worth considerably more in bits, particularly with the leather interior.

If it does have MOT, depending on how long, and if the car is drivable, then not sure, air con and leather will push the price up.

With the faults put right, a years MOT and proof of timing belt change, with the low mileage, and being a deisel, (alloys too?), I'd have thought it could fetch best part of a grand on Ebay (Wolsey House would be asking 2 or 3k).

And I should think you will have all the parts available Andrew, all you need is some spare time biggrin.gif

I'll believe it when it happens but there'll be another 6 months tax and a new battery fitted
sometime today suggesting it's still Mot'd although it must have spent getting on for 10 months'
parked untouched near me since the last MOT so how the faults passed this MOT are open to
conjecture. I'm not saying it's dodgy but it does seem to have loosened its belt after holding it
all together and doing the deed last year!!

No alloys and michelins all round with one wheeltrim missing. I'm sure it could be a nice car as
there aren't any real issues that can't be sorted. The kind of project WHM would get for scrap
money and sell for minter money after investing their knowledge and time.

I guess it feels a bit coarse to drive as the exhaust rumbles on the underside and the rear box has
severed at the joint somewhere. I'm sure I've got all the parts it'd need including the front wing and
alloys although I couldn't wait to stop driving it when I tried it a while ago as the combo of noisy
exhaust and jittery ride from a possible flat pair of middle spheres didn't endear it to me!

Interesting though as a late black over black car in quite a good spec and the mechanicals
otherwise seem fine.

Mmm, sounds as though the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole. The one I am just putting the clutch in was taxed and mot'd and it's a really tidy car, I gave £250.00 for that. Now if it had been manual.... biggrin.gif

ABS sesnor, 65 quid or so new, fitting it - not bad...

Window winders, 3 cheap, as per S1's (unless the plug on the motors changed too) drivers one, a bit more tricky..

Exhaust, cheap ones on ebay, 60 or so.. (off top of head)

On a plus... Amazing low milage for a DERV... and good tyres, oh and black..

so I guess about 300 at most being as its a late T plate car, well worth saving, the rear dent on the large panel could easilly knock out...

My forray into s2'ness is very limited to messing about with a broken mirror and
driving 3 diesels (none of which I own!!). What's the deal with the window
mechanisms - can marginally less naff mechanisms off a s1 be fitted as it sounds
like a poor design/weakness on s2's?

I must admit to really only liking cars with a sunroof as I like the open light
even when (if) the roof does'nt open which this black VSX hasn't even got fitted!

I was guessing myself on a value around the 200-300 mark as it stands which
I would consider a pop at for, but am not the biggest fan of autos as Peter also
prefers.

It may be, if the guy who's got the car is unable to tax it as there is no MOT,
it may have to go PDQ as he doesn't have anywhere for it and its been stood on
the road for absolute ages already.

Time will tell I guess; I'm not chasing it, but it may land my way. rolleyes.gif
As much a I can't get on with it, the new look ebay would significantly help
this car with exhaust, abs and window mechanism kits.0

I think actually that the mk1 winders are better, I replaced one of mine with a Mk 1 and if I remember correctly it has guide wheels for the cable wheras the Mk2 only has grooves that it runs in.
