I remember this one, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...tp%3D%26fvi%3D1

It was on Ebay a few months back...........same pics as before

It was discussed on the forum at the time http://club-xm.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3184

Is a screen replacement very expensive for an XM? Seems strange to give up on the car just because of the screen............I suspect there's more than just the screen...........

There was no MOT last time so the car's been stood a while........still worth more than fifty quid though..........

I would expect the screen to be more than the value of the car if it is not an insurance job. There are rumours that the trim round the screen is as much as the glass itself. That wouldn't be a problem to many of us who want to keep good cars on the road, but for a lot of people who run 10 year old cars it would write it off for them.

Given how easy it is to get it done on the insurance I would have thought it easy enough to get done for not too much.

Four years ago my replacement screen cost £350.00 on my insurance policy. That included for two sets of trims because the fitter messed up big time with the first set! I think it could be done for a lot less than that using one of the lesser branded companies.
