Bendix Abs Sensor Wanted For Charity

Friend works for a community law office, staffed by volunteers and dependant on private support.

They need an ABS front wheel sensor for an S2 Bendix system. Anyone got a good one at a reasonable price?

They arent sided on xm's are they, Ill see if I can get one out..

might be easier to take the entire hub unit if the sensor is good rather than risk damaging the sensor getting it out if it doesn't want to budge. Assuming it's for another XM, that is....

Yeah, I am just having that thought, but its steel hubs on the front, not all like the rear..

Willl tackle this later and see what happens ....

Front Bendix sensors are best pushed out. Thin paint scraper blade to protect the end of the sensor then a chisel blade levering against the abs toothed wheel. You have to break the bond caused by the smear of Araldite that CITROEN used on assembly from 1991 cars onward. I find this method has a very high success rate with Bendix sensors but not with TEVES.

I remembered that, however, the front struts COMPLETE with Complete hubs are already off the car, upon removing the caliper, it then dawned on my its a push action... but before I went ahead and did this I remembered my small stash of sensors in the draw... AND hey presto! There was one VERY early sonsor, with the straight body, and the rest were Bendix 2 sensors, with the rounded bodys, managed to match one up, checked the resistances, and one was 2.66 ohm the other was 2.62 ohms, I guess these are in tolerance.. so thats one ABS sensor sucessfully already removed and needs packing for shipment...
