Well what a bastard of a job this is turning into. The sum of three hours work tonight is that one linkage is off one balljoint. Only five more to go.

There really is no space at all to get working down there, even with all the air piping and LHM reservoir removed there's no room to get tools in. Aha well, might buy one of those balljoint seperators tomorrow....

Hi Ciaran

The two lower ones are best accessed from below, its the other one that's awkard, I left it connected to the gearbox end as the other end is easier to get at. I still have to put my gearbox back! A pair of long nosed pointed pliers should put them back more easily.

Peter.

Hi Peter,

Its the top link that's the problem, so I ended up prying it off from alove with a long bar.

Of course after getting it out, I discover that the replacement the stealers have provided is the wrong one! Its about an inch too short...

Went back down there this morning, but of course their parts counter is shut, so will be Monday now.

I've had to put the old one back in for now, but with the rubber completely gone, its a right pain to select gears with now, but will have to do in the meantime, as god knows when they'll get the correct part in...

Is that the saloon one you're working on Peter?

At least you can do it at your leisure with the estates running normally I guess smile.gif

I just got a phone call off Robert asking if I want to head down to the CCC meet with him, but I don't know if I can drive all the way out to Beleek with my stirring pot gearbox! laugh.gif

It is, and fortunatly there is no pressure, which is just as well as it hasn't stopped raining today. I have the green estate, my son drives the other one. I bought the wrong clutch! Fortunately the clutch plate itself is hardly worn so I managed to get just the thrust bearing from Citroen. But what a job, you have to remove almost as many ancilliaries as you do for the head gasket.

Peter.
