Hi all,
If your sunroof gets stuck there are two likely causes: 1. The push/pull cables which make the glass slide in the housing are gunged up with rust and debris causing them to sieze 2. There's an electrical fault stopping the motor working. I'll leave the dismantling of the sunroof sliding mechanism for another time and concentrate on the electrical option. There is a 9 pin plug which plugs into the back of the two control buttons. The crimps inside the plug are prone to failure. Either they break from the cable or lose their spring pressure and fail to contact with the pins on the buttons. Repair of the pins depends on your electrical capability and availability of crimp ends and a suitable tool. I've attached a 'How to..." to show how the sunroof is operated manually. This should at least allow you to close the sunroof and fix it another day. Best of luck. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey
