Changes To 3rd Party Parts Legislation, another nanny government initiative

Time for a good rant - haven't had one for a while.

I don't know if anyone else here reads the motoring press but recently it has been covering a topic which was aired about 5 years ago then died. It has now been resurrected since the smiling assassin got back into power.

The anti-car government's plan is to change the legislation whereby only dealers and their franchised agents will be able to repair your car in future. It will become illegal to buy or fit non-genuine parts to your car which of course you will only be able to buy from your dealer.

All outlets for pattern or 3rd party parts will cease to trade. Think about what that means. No more...........

Will the Kingfisher group allow Halfords to be shut down without a fight? How many redundancies will be created overnight if this legislation comes into force?

If you think its far fetched, they have similar legislation in places like Germany today. In germany a private car owner cannot sell his car to another person without taking it to a dealer for a condition report (which he must pay for) and he must offer a years warranty with the car. I'ts not expected of course that your average Jo Bloggs would be willing to do this so the result is that all cars are traded back in to the dealers from whence they came.

Something I can never work out

Out of all the people I have talked to I could only find one Labour voter. Now either my circle of friends ranging from people living on the dole in a bedsit to Millionaires either from Daddy or self made have not been honest

Or

There is something very fishy about the voting system.

You dont want to start me on this one.......................


Sit on your arse all day and the money rolls in - and yes I do know this for a fact, "family" member. Brand new 3 bed house plus money for carpets, washing machine, SKY!! etc all from our pockets

Start your own business and they rook you at every turn and exclude yourself from any "help" if you fall on hard times.

Strange, I don't have any acquaintances who will admit to voting for them either. Must be the type of people I mix with.

Don't get me started on the voting system either. For the election just gone, all but 3 of Scotland's boundaries were changed. It stinks of corruption and the whole lot of them need sacking. Why do we need a seat based system at all? Whats wrong with share of the vote.

To cap it all I just got a nice letter from the Tayside constabulary today threatening me with huge fines and bodily violence. At first glance I thought I'd murdered someone and hadn't noticed. Turned out I was going 'too fast' on a deserted road late at night. A real menace to society apparently. If I don't cough up within 28 days I get thrown in prison with the rapists and murders as an equal threat to society.

There's something very very wrong with this country and nobody's doing anything about it.
