the swedish guy who makes the replacement strut mount kit

http://web.telia.com/~u43116231/index2.htm

has been in touch with me and has quoted me the price of 1750 krona (£150) for the whole, kit including p+p

hes given me all his bank details now obviously ive got to get the money over to him

hang on. aren't these kits just a reinforcement protection against a speared
bonnet rather than an actual new whole top strut mounting?

To be fair to the guy though, he's been around a few years so he's not going
to be a risky person to deal with!! laugh.gif

Paypal as a method of payment?

or

Speak to Anders on the French Car Forum though I'd have to confirm he's
Sweden or Norway... rolleyes.gif

it replaces the metal mount plate that connects the rubber dome to the body that fails with rust spectacularly. 2-part which you weld together in situ and bond the rubber to the new mounting plate IIRC

only worth doing if the rubber part is in good order, as this can't be repaired at all and then the central part of the strut top WILL find its own way skyward regardless ....

unless you're lucky like I was and noticed it when it had got anout 1/2-inch or so into it's journey and got the top replaced before it let go completely smile.gif

regards
Dave

anyone speak Ukrainian???

ah well its all a bit too late for me because ive just sent the money via my local co op bank

fairly straight forward to do at an extra cost of £8

so sum total for the replacement metal mount plate about £160.00

and as dave said the rubber still has to be good, which mine are smile.gif

cant wait to see what ive brought as they're supposed to be tank like in construction

£8 to send £150???

Can send up to 12,000euro a time anywhere from NBG's internet banking for eu50 cents (and buy stocks, etc etc).

RBS e-banking: can only check my statements, to make sure how poor I am..or if any nice person from Nigeria has put £5million in my account....Oh, how many £billion profit RBS made last time??

Have bog-standard poverty-level accounts in both banks...Worthwhile finding if anyone in UK offers cheap online-banking services.

cheers
G

clean down rubber blink.gif

weld anchor points together huh.gif

apply suppplied bonding agent wink.gif

set overnight mellow.gif

play abba in the background (optional) rolleyes.gif

seems all fairly straight forward but i will be adding extra coats of some sort of waxoil finish to it, but should hopefully last for years!!!!!!!!!!!
