There should also be two screws between the centre bars but they are not always there.

Thanks, Peter - I'll have a look tomorrow when I pick it up from the garage - and then I best see about ordering some HIDs. I ordered some LEDs for the sidelights today, so I'll see how they go.

Cheers

Keith

Hi.
4300k Gives the best white light and what a difference they make, leave the plastic diffuser in and they look good you will have to adjust the beam level a tad but well worth it.

If it helps anyone I fitted a set of Osram Night Breaker lamps the other week and they've made a real difference - hardly HID levels of illumination but I'm no longer hankering after the upgrade.

Cost about £12 and are fitted in about 120 seconds smile.gif

Thanks again, Jan - that all looks relatively straightforward. Now that mine's back, I've just had a look behind the sidelights to see where the bolt heads are there. Presumably whatever I need to remove behind the 'bar' in the grille is behind the two plastic covers. Will have a go over the Christmas break I think.

Cheers

Hi Keith,

We've been threatening to meet up for some time. When you get your lights (I assume you're ordering 4300s from Hong Kong) why don't you take a run down here and we'll fit them together? I've now done three sets.

Bring your wife for the ride, she can chat to my missus whilst we're working.

Hi Derek

Yes, that'd be great - would be excellent to have some guidance through it, from someone who's done it before.

Yes, ordering 4300s, just for the dipped beam, and I believe they're coming via HK. Will keep you updated as per their arrival.

I ordered some white LEDs to try in the sidelights (as per a member's earlier post (can't remember who off hand)) so I'll see how they go too.

Cheers

Both of my headlights died on the motorway the other night when using an HID conversion so I am going back to normal bulbs for now.

Just bought a new toy so am having a major clearout.

My Series 2 V6 is going to be for sale shortly if anyones interested.

Strange that they both failed together. Sounds as if it's the supply to/from the switch or the relay.

Hi David,

Did you find out what caused your headlamps to fail?
