![]() ![]() ***© Pictures courtesy of Craig Keller 2008 This is just the door moulding trims and bumpers - the scuttle trim and mirrors are the same in silver! The car pictured isn't mine but I'm trying to decide how to finish a VSX s2 that currently has black bumpers/trims! Andrew This post has been edited by Andmcit on March 11, 2008 01:10 pm |

The all-silver look definitely, no comparison in my eyes, 100 times more "class". But you could also try all-silver bumpers with black door trims. Would be a median solution -can you show us this scenario?-. cheers George -------------------- XM '94 V6 12v, manual, Diravi - Mark "1.5" in black - bought: 138,000mls now: 167,000 miles

I've gone for without colour coding. I think the black belt looks good and nothing looks worse to me that scratched colour coded bumpers.
That said I'm not keen on silver, white and black tho... Steve. -------------------- XM 2.1 SED - RP5876

This kind of where I stand but the car does look older even though it's a series2 though this is probably just me with my mind firmly in s1 territory!! I'm normally not a big fan of colour coding on many cars as the shape can all merge in one big blob with no definition on the shape. That said I like the Activa colour coding in the various colours they're offered in (though I'm not a big fan of the s2 Xantia coded front end) and already have a black s2 and a dark blue grey s1 24v V6 which don't really show the colour coding!! The silver car I'm thinking about here is different as it makes a significant change to overall appearance and I'm mulling over searching out silver bumpers/trims whilst I'm looking for an alternative nearside rear door... well, I can wish! Andrew,
Now that you have 'shopped my car, pop on over to this side of the planet and I'll let you loose on the real thing. The front bumper corners are looking a bit daggy - in fact up close the whole car is looking that way! Was a surprise to open the post and see a pic of my own car! -------------------- Craig Keller

Hi Craig!
Profuse apologies for digitally corrupting your actual car!! The perils of picture search in Google!! I've captioned the original posting to acknowledge authorship... Out of interest, from living with the real thing, would you go for the s1 look of grey/black inserts or the whole colour coding!? Actually, I'm now wondering about a halfway house compromise!
The usual s1 black bits painted in a complimentary graphite grey metallic with a laquer finish... guess I could just go the whole hog and paint them lime green or peppermint! Andrew |

Hi Andrew
I voted against colour coding the bumpers. When you have an Exclusive and a VSX alongside each other I much prefer the look of the VSX. This applies to any colour not just silver. The point about scratch marks looking worse on colour coded bumpers also applies to the VSX bumpers from 97 on as Citroen decided to paint the black part with a thick enamel type paint and this marks and flakes terribly. I voted for the colour coding!
My S1.5 Sei V6 and the S1 24v both have colour codeing and I think it looks better. Looking at a car not colour coded, looks cheaper in my opinion.. Rgds C -------------------- 1993 K Reg 3.0 V6 12 Valve Auto (Green) LPG S1.5 SORNd

Hi all
In my opinion the sides should be colour coded if the scuttle and wing mirrors are, if the mirrors and scuttle are black then the side strips should remain black also, Just like they are on the best looking xm of them all...........the MK1 Dean -------------------- 92 xm 20i prestige auto (modified)R.P 5678

I'd go for the au naturale black plastic look, gives nice definition, and avoids the problem of the paint being scraped of bumpers etc. Series 1 man at heart! Same applies to Xantias.

I was the first to have voted! You were all at about your 5th dream when I voted -well except of Graig perhaps!-. I, also, feels it looks 1/cheaper and 2/older with black stripes... G -------------------- XM '94 V6 12v, manual, Diravi - Mark "1.5" in black - bought: 138,000mls now: 167,000 miles
