So back to topic. I bought this car.

Looks like you have a great car Boris. So much better than a VSX to have leather and a/c, and the 2.0i TCT is certainly poky enough for me (although mine is a manual).

I'm sure you will be taking good care of the autobox after paying so much for it:-)

regards

Nice car Boris, you got one with my favourite interior. smile.gif
The leather and suede looks great, especially in grey. smile.gif
I'm quite envious, mine only has velour seats. sad.gif

Well Roy's fix arrived in the post this morning. After a minor hiccup over an unsurprising Citroen idiosyncrasy with the wire colours, instantly resolved by Roy, I fitted the little box in less than 10 minutes.

The transformation is amazing! Here's a car with more new parts than a Citroen dealers store room and that has had very frequent and regular servicing at 3 different dealers yet it took a £30 fix from an enthusiast to turn it into that very rare beast - fingers crossed - an XM on which everything works as it it should. So Roy you're a genius, thank you!

Anyway I'm of to Cornwall tomorrow so I'll find out if I'm being a bit overoptimistic!

Things are progressing.

2500 miles covered so far

I've changed the gearbox oil and added a bottle of additive in spite of the old oil looking pretty clean which was a pleasant surprise. The change is silky smooth.

After fitting new diodes the newly changed LHM rapidly turned from green to sludge, so I guess a bit of the system has been dormant for a while. At this point I figured it'd be a good idea to give the whole system a clean. I tracked down 5litres of Hydrarincage from Aircooled Engineering in Oxford and I've done 1500 miles with this in so far. It's an interesting experience with the ride quality changing on every trip. It's not bad at all, it's just better sometimes. The filters were of course completely bunged up. I'm also going to give it the Jorgy9 treatment this week with the suspension ECU disconnected. Funny how Citrobics makes the neighbours think you're "a little odd"!

The spheres were changed 3 years ago (apart from the anti sink) so I'm thinking my first experience of sphere changing is coming up. I'll be ordering 8 from Pleiades this week and will no doubt be having a love hate experience lying on my back under the car!

An intermittent hiccup with the ABS stopped when I cleaned the sensor connectors.

Everything else? So far so good!
