Hi, to get variable timing on the intermitant position of the wipers is it just enough to change the control stalk or is there a control unit i need to install too ?
Thanks, Colin.P -------------------- Colin.P.

Hi Colin,
Welcome as a poster to club-xm. Why not introduce yourself in the introductions section so that we can put a face to the name? Could you give us some idea of the model and year of your car so that we can help answer your question. For future reference it would be useful to put your model, engine and RP number in your signature so that when you ask a question we know to which particular model you refer. To edit your signature click on the 'MyControls' text at the top right of the screen. On the following screen click on 'Edit Signature' at the bottom left. Then add the information in the box in the middle of the screen. Look at my signature below to get an idea. If your car does not already have variable intermittent wipe then as well as the stalk you will need the electronic box to go with it. The slider for the variable wiper timing on the stalk is only a variable resistor. This needs to be incorporated into a timing circuit in order to achieve the variable wiper timing. Please let us know if you need more help. Cheers noz -------------------- '10 '59' C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer Metallic Grey

Hi Colin,
Did you ever do this swap? I'd like to change the variable wipers from my 'parts' car to my basic spec 2.1TD, and would appreciate any tips etc, such as the location of the control box. Regards, Kiwi -------------------- XM 2.1TD Auto RP 6632

Hi Kiwi, I did the swap - relatively easy. You just need to swap the stalk and the the wiper relay (found amongst lots of relays on the other side of the fuse panel in the cabin - listen/feel it ticking when the wipers are activated to find the right one)over from one to the other - that's it
Best wishes, Colin.P -------------------- Colin.P.
