I replaced my 2.1TD clutch with a Valeo 3 piece kit from GSF (or was it still Andyspares back then?) but it was about 5 years ago, and it might not be long before I need another, hence my interest. Citroen appear to ask about £400 according to their parts site. www.ByPartsBy.co.uk sell LUK clutch kits ( I think LUK are OE suppliers) and one for the 1994 onwards XM 2.1TD is listed at £125.57 + VAT = £147.54, which is about or less than what I paid. Hi, re-clutch XM has a push type where Xantia has a pull type.

Hi Ken
I have seen the 2.1 clutch listed for about £70.00. Its unusual for me to want to pay more for anything but in view of the work involved I want it to last, so thanks for the info. My red one had a new clutch when I bought it and it is so light it almost feels like a 2.5. Have they fitted the wrong clutch or is there something I dont know? It does have a rattling release bearing though. I think only the 2.5 has a push type clutch, the 2.1 is I believe conventional. Peter.N. Seen the update!
I thought that I had better add this note as I have had so many questions about it. The front panel (from a mark 1 )was replaced recently after an incident with a badger.I replaced the off side wing at the same time as it had a deep scratch in it. Grim end for the badger.
