Hi Citroen XM
I need to know about where the Mk1 remote receiver wires go to and what box of tricks is at the end. On the remote receiver there are 4 wires on a 5 wire plug of which 2 are the 12 volt supply. Strangely this plug and wiring is found unused in the centre light of Mk2's. I have sorted the Mk1 receiver wires out and now know how to power it up and make the other 2 wires work the Mk2 locking/unlocking. Mk1 and Mk2 door lock mechanisms are identical except that the deadlock motor is left off, all the mouldings are there to take it. It should be fairly easy to make a aftermarket RF set work in a Mk1. This solution is attractive as it gives the car 2 new high quality Plips albeit not Citroen ones. I just lack the car to try it in but Sam might solve that. I think there are 3 types of Xantia remote and I do not know how interchangable they are. Regards XMexc -------------------- An interest in 2.5TD's.
