Evening all
I've had one of those phone/pocket pc things for about 2 years now, the actual phone bit is pretty clunky with the number keys on the touchscreen being half the size needed for sausage sized fingers like mine but the computer bit never ceases to amaze me. It was only after I'd had it for a year or so that my son informed me that the little slot in the top would take a memory card which is now used for listening to music and sat nav, sometimes both at once. Anyway I realised the other week that one of the built in programs was a pdf viewer so a thought occured....

I recently recieved a copy of the workshop manual from that very knowledgable person north of the border (hi Noz!), could it be copied onto a mini sd card and read on the phone? Oh yes brothers, it can! all twelve hundred and whatever pages of it. Obviously it's a bit on the small side as the screen is 2 x 1.5 inches but the whole thing works as well as it does on the pc, the file size is only 80 meg too so on a 1 gigabyte card theres still room for all the other XM related pdf files I've collected from all over the web.

I'm absolutely chuffed with it, childish I know but how handy is that?, the next time the car breaks down I'll be scrolling round to the relevant page and saying to the recovery driver "it's that bit there that's fallen off mate, here's how it goes back on"

Curiously, the redhead doesn't seem as excited about it as me, and is rolling her eyes as I type.
