I am looking for something to replace the Fiat asap as it's getting a bit frothy round the gills now!
A smallish Cit would be ideal (smaller than an Xm!). Ax, Visa, Bx you know the thing. Diesel or small petrol. I've spoken to Andrew and he's made some enquiries for me but drew a blank. Much as I like his Xantia's the're a touch too big. I've spoken to peeps on the Bx forum as well but still haven't struck a deal. Anyone? There seems to be a drought at the moment. A known car would be nice. Thanks. -------------------- Dave.

My mate has a BX 17TZD K reg. Colour Silver, not pristine but very very tidy. We did a 350 mile round trip in it last weekend with no problems at all.
No idea how much he wants for it but I can ask if you are interested. The car is in Wakefield. -------------------- 92 (J) 2.1TD Est. Usual Green.

Thanks Ken that's very good of you.
I don't want to spend an awful lot as it will just be backup for the Xm. I've been looking at Bx's on fleabay. There's a beautiful red Gti on there at the moment but the last minute (literally!) scramble inevitably takes them to silly prices. And the ones that sell for peanuts always seem to end when I'm asleep or at work. -------------------- Dave.

I'll find out how much he wants for it, he's not greedy and it is a nice example.

As a standby suggestion I'd look at the ZX TD.
Looking at them myself. Steve. -------------------- XM 2.1 SED - RP5876

Hi
The ZX is generally robust, especially the 1.9 XUD but check there are no nasty rattles coming from the rear torsion bar beam. These can be a pain with ZX's. Cheers Tony |

There are a few AX diesels on ebay. Of course, if you can find the £600, there's a really really good BX TZD, with all the toys, on BXForum

My choice would be a ZX diesel. The 1.9D is no great performer but is ultra reliable, I believe the turbo is quite quick. If you get one with a Bosch injector pump you can reduce running costs by feeding it veggy oil or virtually any combustble liquid. I've heard of owners who run theirs on a 30%/70% mix of veggy and household heating oil (kerosene) but I wouldn't know anything about that.
They are also very chuckable and give a comfortable non-hydro ride. Derek -------------------- 1999 3.0V624v Exclusive Black! (RP8362)

I think my mate is looking for about £450ono for his BX. It's not bad as it's got 6 months tax and about the same MOT.

I'm increasingly seriously thinking about an AX diesel, more as a backup for the Herald than the XM, but would cover me for both. I'm spying on some on eBay, but should anyone come across a known good car, let me know!
